This weeks tip is Personal Notepad

Did you know the software that the forum uses has a Personal Notepad ?

If you go to your control panel here: Control and scroll to the bottom you will see yours. All members have one and whatever you put in there can only be seen by you.

Just put some text and click "Update Notepad" it's as simple as that.

Caveat: Though no one else can see what you put in your Personal Notepad I don't advise you put anything too personal like bank account details etc. The information is stored on the server and it's very unlikely that we will get hacked, but I accept no responsibility should your private information get lost.

I use mine to keep a few notes that I may need to quickly find on the forum, like links to threads or peoples real names if they have been given to me privately.

So put what you like in there, but remember it only accepts text.

Any questions let me know.

See you next week.

This weeks tip is The Bar

I couldn't think what to put this week and I'm not sure anyone is reading, so instead I'm going to tell you how to find the Psoriasis Club Bar.

Here is a picture of the front door.

It's not easy to find so I'll make it easy for you ................................ Click this link [Group Specific]

And take this with you.

Any questions let me know.

See you next week.

This weeks tip is Search Button

Click the "Search" button on the menu bar and a new window will pop up where you can choose your options for a search.
  • Search by Keyword: Type a word in the box and click "entire Post" (gives all posts with the chosen word) or "titles only" (gives threads with the chosen word in the title)
  • Search in Forum(s): By default the search will be in all boards. Your can highlight one board to search, or by holding down "Ctrl" on your keypad you can make multiple choices.
  • Search by Username: This will find all post by a certain user.
  • Search Options: The two drop down menus give you additional display options.
  • Sorting Options: Sorts the results by Author, Date, or Board in ascending or descending order.
  • Display Options: Choose if you want results as Threads or Posts.
  • Search button: Click this and your results will pop up.
*Notes:
Only members can use the search facility.
The more options you choose the better the results.
You can also put some words in quotes like this "scalp psoriasis"
You need to allow 30 seconds between searches.

Any questions let me know.

See you next week.

This weeks tip is Report

Myself and the forum helpers are always keeping an eye on things in the background, but we also rely on our members to help us keep Psoriasis Club a safe place free from advertising, bullies, spammers and scammers etc.

If you ever feel a post or a member is wrong for Psoriasis Club you can report it. Below you will see the report button in a post and a members profile.

When you click the report button it will ask you a "Report Reason" you can choose an option or leave it where it is > Then you click "Report Post or User" From there you don't need to do anything else. I will get an email with a link to the post or member that you reported and I will react as soon as possible.

Obviously I don't want to be tied up with reports, but please don't hesitate to report if you feel it is something against Psoriasis Club's policies. We need our members to help keep us all safe and friendly on the forum.

*I will never share your information with anyone including the forum helpers. It's between you and me and will never go any further.

You can also contact the forum helpers Caroline and Kat here Staff they don't have as much power but can remove posts and stop members posting till I sort it out. *You will also need to contact them directly if you want to report me and they will act on your behalf.

Any questions let me know.

See you next week.

This weeks tip is Sneaky Peek

Did you know you can get a sneaky peek of a post by using your mouse* just go to a board and point your mouse pointer at one of the red arrows shown in the image below.

The first two will show a sneaky peek of what the thread is about, the one on the right will show a peek from the last post in the thread.

*I don't know if it works with a phone or tablet, maybe you could tell me ?

Any questions let me know.

See you next week.

This weeks tip is New thread from front page

Did you know that you don't need to go to a board to start a new thread ?

Let's say you want to start a new thread in Psoriasis And Psoriatic Arthritis Topics rather than go to that board you can do it from the front page by clicking "New Thread"

A new page will open where you put your subject and content > Click "Post Thread" and it's job done.

Any questions let me know.

See you next week.
