Hey guys, nice to meet you all.
My name is Amber and 20. I have had psoriasis for 3 years now. I've had full body psoriasis and it healed on its own several months later. I have had scalp psoriasis ever since and I only recently stopped the bad habit of  picking at the scabs and scales. I'm worried about it causing my hair loss. I'm also at a very stressful point in my life right now so I think that's contributing too.

Thanks for reading Smile

Hello Amber,

Nice to meet you and Welcome to psoriasisclub.
I hope you will find here what you are looking for, but that chance is quite good, as we are a nice and versatile bunch of people from all over the world.
Btw, where is Room situated on earth? Never heard of this place.

The club has serious boards and Off Topic boards. In the serious boards is a massive amount of information on psoriasis and a listening ear. The Off Topic though, welll let's mention not too much about that you have to find out yourself.

Cheers,
Caroline

Hi Amber
I'm glad you plucked up the courage to come and chat about your psoriasis. Here you will find you are among friends. All have the condition in common If you sift through the posts you will find a lot of good advice here. I myself developed the condition when I was 17 and have been through most treatments, you are so young to be suffering it, at a time in your life when skin condition should be the last thing on your mind.
Glad your full body psoriasis has gone away, try to stay positive and hope it stays that way. come back here often as there is usually someone not far away to share your feelings with, who will understand what you are going through
Regarding your scalp, look through the natural treatments first, to see if there's something that suits you.
As I said before Welcome to the forum keep coming back

Hello Amber Welcome to the forum.

I'm using tgel and alternating it with tea tree oil syampoo when my hair gets too dry. Tgel can be strong in smell and I took some time to get used to it. It works well for me but I havent found tgel in retail shops near me so I have to either order online or get my friends/family to buy it from their oversea trips. Browse through the forum maybe you will find what works for your scalp. You would find me worrying about losing my hair too in my Greetings thread Rolleyes

Hello Amber, welcome to the forum! Have a rummage around and you will probably find a few gems that might help. Fred will no doubt mention the coconut oil - it's his favourite Big Grin Have fun!

Hello Amber Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

Yes Lady B is right I will mention Coconut Oil Rub it into your scalp well, wrap your head in cling film for a few hours or overnight if you can, then wash it out with lukewarm water. Thumb

Don't worry to much about hair loss it will grow back, though for the men reading this it won't make your hair grow back. I'm living proof of that, so get over it and walk around with your own personal solar panel on your head "Sun on your skin is good for you" Cool

Re the stress Amber, yes stress will make it worse and you want to avoid it as much as possible. Jim has just started a thread about it here: Psoriasis and stress and if you hit the search button and type in Stress you will find it mentioned often. *The search button only works for logged-in members.

If all else fails, have a look through the [Group Specific] board and dive on in, I'm sure you will find something there to relieve the stress. (Especially my threads as I'm the most sensible member here) Big Grin

Regards.

Fred.
