Hi friends. I've had psoriasis since 2003. It got much worse when I was pregnant in 2007 and I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis in 2015. I've read some posts on here and I saw someone had mentioned that they had used dovobet on their face. A friendly word of advice. Don't I got rosacea from doing this and it got infected too. I've been searching through tonight because I believe my psoriasis that has always been on my ears has gone inside my ear and I have the worst ear ache ever. Hopeful that someone can advise me for the fastest solution on a weekend when there's only an emergency dr 14 miles away and no transport

Hi Daisydef and  Welcome to the club you will find us a very friendly group of fellow sufferers. And this site gives us a platform to share our experiences and support each other through the good periods and the bad periods with the disease, there is so much information here, about the disease and its treatment. If you need any help navigating around the site or a question just shout out and someone will reply

Thanks for sharing your warning about your experience of dovabet on the face, I'm sorry I don't know an answer to the ear problem as it has never been a problem for me, but you could try a little coconut oil in the ear to soften the scales
But the other option is to get to an A&E department and let them look into your ear to see if there is something else causing the pain, not easy for you though without transport Confused

A great way to keep in touch with the latest news and members threads is to subscribe to the clubs free monthly newsletter Groups

Hello Daisydef  Welcome to Psoriasis Club

Thank you for giving first hand experience of using Dovobet on the face. It should never be used on the face, and hopefully others will take note of your words.

Yes I'm with Jim about your ear. Put Coconut oil in your ear using your finger two or three times a day. (Don't use a cotton bud)  NoNo

Another option if you don't have coconut oil to hand is to try a 50/50 mix of Peanut and Olive oils, or just Olive oil. But it's best to get it checked out as soon as you can because a build up of psoriasis of the inner ear could cause problems.

Regards.

Fred.

*I hope you don't mind but I made an edit to your subject heading to help with searches.

You're welcome, just dive on in you will find a friendly bunch. And if you need a break from psoriasis and want to get to know some of our members I can recommend the [Group Specific] board (I'm the sensible one in there)  Smile

Hi Daisydef,

Welcome to psoriasisclub !

I myself have never heard of such a psoriasis problem in an ear, so I have to rely on the opinion of Fred and Jim. But it is certainly good to keep your inner ear soft with some clean oil.

Hi nice to meet you Wave

I would not use dovobet on my face, I have used 1% hydrocortisone though, very sparingly on my derm's advice.

Hi Daisydef welcome to the club Wave

Not had Ps in the ear so I cant be of much help - sorry. Jim and Freds advice is probably the best until you can get proper medical advice.

If you have a Chemist nearby they may be able to look into your ear and recommend something. Since I started with Ps and going on / coming off Acitretin I have been plagued with excessive earwax and this gives me some grief. This manifests itself as aching and itching

Welcome Daisy Wave

I have or should I say, had P in my ears.

My GP prescribed Betnovate cream about 2 weeks ago because it was driving me batty. Angry

I put a very small tiny amount on a cotton bud and very carefully and gently put it in my ear once a day, every other day.

Within about 6 - 8 days, it was gone 87

Now, as it stands, i haven't anymore P in my ears, thank goodness.

Hope your GP or derm doc gives you something to help you Thumb
