Hi Clear30 if you're feeling fed up you've come to the right place ...here you will find a friendly group of fellow sufferers ..sorry your psoriasis has flared up after so long ....it's an awful disease that pops back into our lives whenever it wants, but I suspect, as you do it's linked to your sore throats
if I were you I would be in touch with my dermatologist and request a systemic drug to help clear you ....times have changed and the dermatologists have a wide arsenal of treatments to offer ...have a look at Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis and if you have any questions don't hesitate to shout out

Stress is often a big factor so although it's hard not to be stressed about the scales, the less you worry the better it will be for you

A great way to destress us to come here and chat with our members or visit the off topic boards where things are less serious  Whistle

A great way of staying in touch is to subscribe to our free monthly newsletter you can do that by clicking Groups and clicking on join group

Hi Clear30,

Welcome to psoriasisclub.
As Jim states there are many treatments in the mean time for Psoriasis. It may make sense to do one step further to the systemic treatments.

It is very well possible that your sore throat is the cause of the flare up. A sore throat is mostly caused by a streptococcus or staphylococcus infection and those bacteria are known to have an influence as a cause for Psoriasis outbreaks.

Have a good time over here with us!

Cheers,
Caroline

Hello Clear30  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

Sorry to hear after 30 years it's come back, but it just goes to show what a difficult thing it is to manage. I'm with the others and it's time to see a dermatologist and get on top of it as soon as possible.

They will probably start you on an oral treatment or light therapy. You can read up here: Oral Treatments For Psoriasis

As for feeling fed up. We all understand how you feel, and I'm sure we can help cheer you up a little so just dive on in.

Regards.

Fred.

Hi all, thanks for your welcome and replies, I think it's time to see dr and request a referral to a skin specialist. As you say there are many new treatments out there and it's time to give one a try.
Dovonex not really working for me.

Yes that's a good idea as the creams are meant to be for short term use ...a referral to a dermatologist is a good idea, but read up on here about the treatments that are available ...then you can have a meaningful meeting with the dermatologist and understand what's being offered, Fred has put a link in his earlier post Thumb

Welcome  Clear30.

I’m the in sane one on here. All the others are stark raving bonkers  Whistle

On the psoriasis front, a good moisturiser is coconut oil  Thumb

To be brutally honest, Dovonex in my opinion is @:#* ! You would probably be better off using Stork margarine for all the good it does  Tongue

Make an appointment with your GP and get him / her to make you a referral for a dermatologist Clear  Thumb

Enjoy yourself on here.
