Hi,

hello from Berlin, Germany.

I'm Claudia and I have my Psoriasis since I was 3 years old – and this is 46 years ago. Most time my psoriasis was on hands and soles – Psoriasis vulgaris palmoplantaris.

The most effective way for relief was the Dead Sea – and now it's Cosentyx. I tried almost all medications. If you have german-related questions – feel free to ask (and other questions too) Wave

Hello Claudia  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

Thank you for offering to help with German related questions, it's always helpful having members that understand how a countries health system works. The only thing I would ask is that the text is in English or a translation is posted at the same time if the text is in German as we are an English speaking forum.

Apart from that, dive on in you will find a friendly bunch of people.

Regards.

Fred.

Hi Claudia and a warm Welcome to the forum I hope you enjoy it here, we are all the same here fellow sufferers, often struggling to find a treatment that works, but I have found this a great place to come for advice and to see how others manage the psoriasis.....there is a wealth of unbiased information here and genuine sufferers experiences
Myself I have been on a German drug Fumaderm, have you had that as a treatment ?

I see you are on Cosentyx which seems to be a good drug and gives many sufferers relief, can I ask how long you have been on it ?

Sure, I had Fumaderm too. It's one of the first internal medications who you becomes in Germany. So many people with Psoriasis in Germany takes this medicine or now the new Skilarence. For me the side effects weren't acceptable but other people don't have side effects... It's the case for all medications, isn't it?

Cosentyx I had for one year approximately, until September last year. Then I worked for some months in Australia and paused with all medications. Now, four months after my return, the first psoriasis plaques are back. Such a long time I was never without the plaques.

I hope you get clear again on Cosentyx ...it's a shame you had to stop while in Australia

The Fumaderm tablets can be very difficult at the start of taking them and many have to give up if the side effects get too bad ... they were bad for me, but having come off Methotrexate I would have put up with anything  Confused ... but I've now had 6 clear years, and dread it coming back

Good luck

Welcome Claudia Wave

I lived in Berlin for nearly 4 years Thumb

Dead Sea soaps etc are good Claudia.

If you can, try to get some raw virgin coconut oil and use that on your psoriasis.

Hope that you stay with us Claudia Thumb

Grüss Gott Claudia,

Or don’t they say that in Berlin ?
Nice city, I have visited it a few years ago.

Welcome to Psoriasisclub. Too bad Fumaderm did not do the job for you, but Cosentyx seems to be very good.

Cheers and have fun here on the forum.

Wave Hi Claudia

Welcome to the club!!

I was diagnosed with palmoplantar pustular psoriasis on my hands and feet in April last year, had PUVA light treatment for three months and I am now on a low dose of acitretin which has thankfully kept it at bay since then.

Nice to meet you anyway...
