Hello and welcome. I'm new to psoriasis. Am on Aceterin week 6 seems to be working slowly. I've had so much support from everyone here it's kept me going and helped with the shock of going from clear skin all my life to being literally covered. Good luck with your new treatment and  Welcome

Thumbs Up  Tue-12-06-2018, 23:10 PM
Hi again, quick update on the Cosentyx. I'm now two and a half weeks in to the new treatment and my skin is noticeably smoother and the patches are beginning to fade. Still a long way to go, but the signs are very encouraging.  Thumb

That's going extremely well for such a short time ....but it's not unusual for it to work fast ....I remember when it was released being amazed at how fast it worked on some sufferers

Great that it's heading in the right direction ....long may it last and I hope you can enjoy the summer ( if it ever arrives ) with a clear skin Thumb

Well it's been a while now so I thought I'd give you another update. I'm now clear of all rough and flakey areas but still have the discolouration on all the places where it was. Hoping this will fade away over time, but it's not looking like it will tbh. I'll be seeing my Dermatologist in September, so maybe they can give me some idea if it will clear completely. On the plus side, I have had no side effects at all and feel so much better. Just don't think I'll be on the beach anytime soon...

Hi Andy thanks for the update, it seems as if Cosentyx is working for you it’s now around 3 months you have been on it and I think if I’m understanding correctly that your Psoriasis is clear but your skin is still pink, is that right if so the new skin should begin to match in with the rest of you, although for me it has left small white patches which won’t tan ( and I have been out in the sun all summer) but it’s far better than Psoriasis and doesn’t attract the stares that an angry scaly skin does
I hope it gets so you are more comfortable with going to the beach before the summer finally fades for another year
Good luck
Jim

I still have some marks where the psoriasis once was, but it's just slight pigment change and you have to look hard to find it. There is no time as to when you will be completely clear, we are all different.

*KwakerAndy please note that all threads in introductions are closed after 3 months to save confusion, and this thread will be closed next month so I suggest you start a new thread in Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis if you want to keep updates.

Good luck with your progress and your next appointment.
