hi all 36 year old Australian here. Just discovered enstillar foam for quite severe psoriasis and it works kind of. Still feel itchy parts on my body. Just seen my derm and they’ve issued me with acetretin. I’ve just stared on 25mg and here’s goes!! Hopefully this gets rid of it completely

Hello C-DOGG 23  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

We have a few members on Acitretin, you may find some useful information in the Search

Good luck and don't hesitate to start a thread in Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis about your journey, it's a good way of keeping track of things and your input could help others.

You will find us a friendly bunch, so just dive on in.

Regards.

Fred.

Hi Dogg and  Welcome to the club, yes I’ve tried enstilar and it seems better than the creams and ointments. I hope the acetretin will work well for you we have several members using it successfully. I look forward to hearing how you get on with it
Good luck
Jim

Hi and welcome dogg , I use enstillar on a couple of stubborn patches though I don't think that it is intended for use for long periods of time. Best of luck with the acetretin watch out for things like ingrowing nails ,it works for quite a lot of people but never worked for me but every one is different so what works for you may not work for me. All the best and ask any questions that you want as they will be answered by people who have the same problems.

Hi Dogg welcome to our Club
Good luck with the Acitretin. I've just had to come off the stuff as I started to develop raised ALT levels after a couple of years using. I would strongly recommend a good dose of patience, it can take a long while to kick in. It was a good 3 or 4 months before I started to notice clearance. Please ask if you need any more information I would be more than happy to provide a more targeted reply.

Don't forget we have a very active off topic section and many of us can be found lurking in the bar.

Welcome C-Dogg,

If you are covered in psoriasis then you are likely better off with a pill or injection than with sprays or creams. Note that there are many treatments available to you and some wont work. Further, you need to be aware of the risks from your treatment as some treatments can irreversibly damage your skin over a number of years. With the public system you will have to try and fail a treatment in order to access another treatment, so with persistence you should eventually get something that works.

Good luck.

Hi C-DOGG, welcome aboard and Good luck with the Acitretin it made quite change for me at the start but unfortunately didn’t live up to it’s initial promise. That doesn’t mean it won’t work for you the key is be patient and make sure you give your dermatologist all the information you can.

Cheers
Craig
