Hi all, recently started Tremfya. Started my loading dose (Week 0 and week 4). It is currently week 8, my next/third shot would be week 12. Start week 7 until today, I have been having unusual headaches 24/7 with a sense of dizziness also. I am also more sleepy than usual. I was seen by a doctor after a week of symptoms, all my blood work came back normal and I had a CT scan of my head that was also normal. I see a neurologist in two days. I was just posting to see if anyone else had similar symptoms with Tremfya or other biologics? This medication cleard everything up. What Embrel and humira couldn't, Tremfaya did. However at a cost. These headache/dizziness are unbearable to be honest. Anyway, needless to say I will be quitting this med :(.

Hi Vegetabba,

Welcome to psoriasisclub.
I don’t know about tremfya myself, but I can fully understand that in your case the side effects are too annoying to bear with them.
There are more alike treatments which may work as well without that effects for you.

I think one of the members with experience in that field may kick in and give you a comment.

Cheers,
Caroline..

Hi vegetabba and  Welcome to the club .....I hope you find the forum useful and get answers to your questions, I have not progressed to Biological drugs yet as the treatment I am on is working so well.  From the sounds of the side effects I can't blame you for wanting to come off it, although sometimes the side effects get easier the longer you are on the drug as your body learns to accept it, although if it's unbearable or making you constantly feel unwell there are other biological s you could ask for such as Stelara (ustekinumab)..... or Taltz (ixekizumab) ......or Cosentyx (secukinumab)

I wish you luck and hope to hear how it all pans out for you and that life is getting back to normal ( without flakes) Wink

I've not tried Tremfya, but did have a few problems like you describe when first starting Stelara. But my body soon got used to it.

You may find the side effects get milder as your body gets used to it, obviously that can take time so you have to weigh up the benefits against the negatives.

It's still early days and the loading dose is a big hit in a short space of time, I would put up with it for a little longer and see how it goes with the maintenance dose. (But that's my thinking)

Other options would be to ask about one of the other bio's see list here: Biological Treatments For Psoriasis

Welcome to Psoriasis Club by the way.  Wave

*I will move this thread to Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis as Tremfya is not a natural treatment.

HEy all, this is an update for anyone who might come to encounter similar side effects. The headaches and dizziness lifted today. Feeling back to my normal self. Tremfaya completely cleared my psoriasis, more than embrel or humira did. I am genuinely happy to be side effect free, but sad I have to stop tremfaya. Thanks again everyone for your help.

What a shame that you had to stop after those awful side effects .
Thanks for returning with the update  Thumb
What’s the next step for you, have you been started on another treatment ? Or are you still talking to your dermatologist to decide the next step?
Good luck .... I hope you get another treatment that works as well but without the side effects  Thumb

That is a shame, but like Jim said thank you for coming back to give an update.

Good luck on your next try whatever it may be.
