You need to make 10 posts to see the journals.

You have now made 10 posts so please try again.

Deffo gonna start a progress thread once i get my start date for Stelara.

Turnedlight, do you mind me asking how was your Stelara experience? side effects? time to notice clearance? anything really.

Stelara was great, low on side effects and got good clearance, sadly my body seems very good at developing antibodies to treatments and it stopped working in under a year - but it was fab while it lasted.

If you can read my journal, the Stelara bit is from about page 35.

Took a bit of reading last night, but I got through your journal.

It really sucks for you how you build up resistance to the meds so quick! :(

Ha ha even I can’t be bothered to read all my wittering on! I ought to put a warning on it!
Yes it’s a bit annoying that I go through them so quickly but I think most people don’t, and even one year clear is really good.

I just can’t wait to get up stairs and go straight to bed, instead of having to lather myself in creams and ointments every night!

Just wanted to remind you TL and any other member, you are welcome to start new threads if you switch your treatment.

I have two for Stelara, one for Cosentyx and will start another if I change.

Some of us also have locked copy threads to make for easier reading, but it's your choice.

Just another question or two.

While i'm hoping to be starting Stelara in the next couple of weeks, i've got a holiday to Florida booked with my wife, we're leaving on October 28th, and i'm hoping to be a week or two after my second shot when we take off.

Am i going to be okay to travel? is being on planes for 14 hours going to make me really sick? any tips on how to travel and avoid sickness?

Will Stelara make me photo sensitive? i was hoping to be able to pick up a bit of a tan while there....

Should not make any difference traveling but you could be liable to extra sensitiveness to the UV light so will need protection.

Yes you will be fine. Stelara won't make any difference to the way you feel whilst flying. If you are worried you could try an over the counter travel sickness pill, Mrs Fred always takes one when we fly and she says they are great.

No it won't cause you a problem, I have never been told to keep out of the sun any more than usual whilst on a Bio. I was on Stelara over 6 years and never once told to keep out of the sun, and we get a lot of it here. Just be careful as you usually would and enjoy your holiday.  Smile

Plus the sun will help the healing process too.
