Take my advice; I don't use it anyway.

Welcome!

I've done Acitretin, and it did help me, but I wouldn't want my daughter to take it. I was past child bearing years but I know there is some concerns there so I'd discuss those thoroughly with your doc.

Currently on Stelara and it definitely has helped. I'm a bit impatient and wanted to be able to say I'm clear (6 months on) but not there yet.

There are a lot of good people here who are willing to share their information.

Good luck and again, welcome!

Kat

Thank you all for the warm welcomes ! AND for the advice, information and sharing of your own experiences.  I truly appreciate it and already feel in a more confident position to discuss options with our dermatologist. Thank you Fred- I will take your advice and post under the thread you suggest in the future.
Many thanks EVERYONE-what a wonderful supportive group.  Heart

Hi Lynn,
I am a psoriasis mom too. My 13 year old son has it as of a few months ago and I too am on this journey to find help for my child. I joined less than 2 weeks ago and have learned so much from this forum. I probably spend about 1.5 hrs every day reading old posts and threads, it truly has been a god send. Our dermatologist recommended Stelera the first time we saw him, I thought that was crazy but after weeks of research, and watching the P get worse, we may do it. Which ever way you go I hope your daughter finds relief soon!

Hi Lynn welcome to our Group you will learn a lot here as different people have used different treatments.I myself was on Methotrexate but had to get off of it as it caused me to have a high liver count. So after that I was ordered Remicade which is administered by IV And it was every 6 weeks and helped me but the forth time I took it I broke out in hives and had some breathing issues. They had all kinds of Dr’s come up to check on me.I was taken off of it.Had to wait 6 weeks to start on Embrel 50 mg sure click which I administer to myself every Saturday. The Arthritis Dr told me when I am sick not to give myself the shot.I was so sick for three weeks and just started back on my shot.I have a few spots of psorosis but nothing like before.I started with the psorosis first thought it was dandruff then ended up with the Psoriatic Arthritis at age 55. I am now 67 and doing so much better than before.Sometimes you have to try different treatments till you get the one that helps the most.   Welcome again to our group glad you found us! Wave I also had facial flushing from the Remicade much worse than a hot flash!

Hi Lynn, there isn't much I can add that everyone has not already said, except to say welcome and I hope you can find some advice that helps your daughter and gives you both some peace of mind.

Cheer
Craig
