Good news! The doctor just messaged me hat she is going to fit me into her first cancellations available and will see me within the next 2 weeks.  Which is challenging since I will be out of town all next week.  But I am sure she will make it happen!

Hi Wave

Sounds like you have been through the mill.. I haven’t tried Cosentyx but on Taltz I did get a nasty fungal infection in my throat right down to my stomach. After tablets for that though, I didn’t get any more problems.

Hi Hawklight and welcome to the club!! (apologies for the late welcome)

I have a weird form of psoriasis which only affects my hands and feet!  So subsequently I can't give you much advice on the type you have or Cosentyx either to be fair - but you will get some good advice on here that's for sure.

I did have light treatment which was a pain to attend and took two hours out of my day twice a week for 3 months and for only a few seconds light but I am guessing that it did help, but couldn't see that at the time.

So pleased that you have found this group though as everyone is so supportive and there is so much information on here and very knowledgeable and friendly people.

I hope that you can find some respite very soon to enable you to carry on your travels and get some normality back into your life....

Good luck

Wooley

Hi Hawklight, And Welcome   Wave.  I used Cosentyx several years ago and it did nothing much for the Psoriasis, however if you suffer with joint pain it can ease the discomfort.

Take my advice; I don't use it anyway.

Hi Hawklight!  Welcome I'm a mom of a teen with psoriasis, also blond, blue eyed. Had to stop the phototherapy due to burning and also the racoon eyes were to much for him to handle.
SHould be starting Stelara shortly. This is a great group of supportive and fun people here.

Hi Everyone!
Thank you all for all your welcoming notes and encouragement!
I just got back from my week in Colorado helping my niece with her new 2 monthly baby girl.  Very exhausting but I Love the new baby and my niece and I really bonded.  Didn't sleep well, so came back aching all over and stayed in my robe the last two days.

Bigs news!  My Dermatologist squeezed me to an appointment last Friday!  She has put in the order for the Cosentyx and it is currently being processed by the insurance company.  I called the insurance and they said they would have no issue with approving the drug for me.

Now the doctor wants to make sure I am up on all my vaccines.  I need a Hep B booster and the Internist wants me to get the new Shingles vaccine.  Has anyone else had that vaccine yet?  I understand from research that it causes quite the immune reaction which is why it works so well.   I ha da psoriasis flare just from the flu shot so this has me very concerned.

If anyone out there has had the new Shingles virus I would Love to hear your experiences - the good, the bad and the ugly.

Thank-you!!
