Thanks guys. I forgot about coconut oil. I used to go to that all the time. Will grab some at the weekend ... going through a tub of diprobase at the moment - It’s not much use really, add to that silcocks base, aqueous cream, ave I and la roche possay- none of them help with proper moisture during a flare .. as for the itch - forget it.. only wine administered orally helped me!

I’m still finding it  obscure that I am not feeling any side affects. Any ideas why that would be?  Could it be connected to hormones which take time to settle down after pregnancy ??  I m curious as it was so predictable and forceful last time .. flushes, cramps and intestine release.. (sorry Tmi)  I never minded it as I knew it was a sign of the drugs working.

I’ll check out the bar but I hope it’s an early house, my late nights out have been hugely curtailed of late ..  Big Grin  .

Hi Arlene,

Indeed it is obscure that you don’t have the side effects. But I still don’t think it has a connection to the effectiveness. The side effects in your intestines come from the fact that DMF is an irritating substance. It might be that indeed perhaps because of your hormonal swing that your intestines are better dealing with the DMF.
I would expect flushes though.
The only way to check now seems by measuring the state of your lymphocytes, see my reference to Bill’s thread.

For now as would says, just keep on going. Big Grin

Yes wine helps. Red Wine

Another one you could try is Dexeryl I don't know if it's available in Ireland but you can get it on Amazon. I used to get it on prescription and Mrs Fred said it was a great moisturiser.

Hi Arls,

I'd add two ideas, and the second one probably doesn't apply to you. Narrow band UVB can work well in conjunction with DMF, so hopefully it is an option for you. The second is something I observed with my treatment, namely two doses a day of 360mg worked better for me than three doses of 240mg. According to Caroline, the dose in the Netherlands gets varied a bit outside the guidelines, but I doubt that would be the case in the UK.

Cheers

Oh Hi Bill,

I’m running out of Light treatment “credits” as I have had so many in my life time and need to keep a reserve for the next time that I get pregnant (please god). But that is good to know all the same.

I actually take my full daily dose of DMF at night, so that’s 720 mg. I find it easier to deal with any side affects over the night - of course this time there are none but taking the full dose in one go has always been successful for me.

I will look up those moisturizers Caroline and Fred - thank you ... I feel things has kicked in a bit more here... fingers crossed ?

Happy Sunday all !

Very interesting, Arls. Thank you. Can you use calcipotriol? It is another treatment that has shown synergies with DMF treatment. At least you have an excellent tolerance of the drug. 830mg got too much for me and I was only taking it once or twice a week.

Cheers
