Howdy - Currently on Cosentyx for 4 mo, generally feeling better yay!

But having sudden sharp mental decline. Can still recite and analyze passages from Chaucer and Shakespeare no prob (retired Engl Lit teacher) but cant remember to lock the front door when I go out, turn off the coffee pot, pay bills on time, and recently had a “spell” where I was driving to a dr’s appmnt, got confused, then lost, and ended up driving all over town for an afternoon - didnt know where I was going, or why, or where I was, or how to get home. I have lived in this same small town for 20 years!

Has anyone else experienced mental confusion while on Cosentyx? It is not listed as a side effect. Or could this be something else?

TIA,

Nope I have been on it over two years and never noticed it effecting my mental state in any way. I've been on Bios for 10 years + and I don't think any have effected me in that way either. I also don't recall any of our members having problems like you suggest whilst using Bio's.

May be worth you asking your GP to refer you for some tests with a specialist ?

I start on secukinumab (we tend not to use brand names in the UK) next week - nothing like this was mentioned to me by my dermatologist, so I'll keep this in mind as something to be aware of. Hope you feel better soon.

Cheers,

Brian

I wasn't on Cosentyx very long but no, I had nothing like you're describing either.

Well I forget stuff, but it was no more or no less while on Cosentyx. I'd ask your doctor about it.

Hi GFT, I’ve been on Cosentyx for almost 12 months and like the others I haven’t noticed mental confusion as a side effect, at least I don’t think I have been any more confused than normal but who can tell..... eek 85

As Fred says, it’s probably worthwhile checking with your GP
