Hi Mcduffy,

Welcome to the club

Bigarm

By patient assistance program, do you mean the insurance support provided by the company?   We have similar programs in Canada.

Unfortunately, I am not great at following diets and therefore can't help much but there is great information in the forum to help you  Smile

Also, if you need a distraction from psoriasis, visit the off topic section

Have a great day!

But you need some advice on ways forward and until someone comes with other ideas have a look at this thread How I Cured My Psoriasis By Diet
I'll mention this in our next newsletter that goes out at the end of the month

By the way if you wish you could subscribe to the free newsletter by clicking Groups and then clicking on join group

Good luck
Thanks for the positive vibes

Hi Denise,

Welcome to psoriasisclub.
It is always very shocking for a first time patient to hear that you have Psoriasis. We understand that fully, as we are all in the same boat.
Luckily there is a lot to find out and there is a long list of possible treatments.

I think that Kat, not KatT, will also contact you about insurance. She is from the US also. I can’t help you in that sense as with us, the Netherlands, we have totally different arrangements.

Cheers and also have a bit of fun with us. Wave

Hello and welcome Mcduffy, I hope you get all this sorted soon. unfortunately, I'm another who can't help with the US system as I'm in Australia.  I'm sure Kat will be along with some insight for you soon.

Welcome!

I currently have commercial insurance as well as Medicare as a secondary insurance so I'm not certain how it works with just Medicare. I did ask the nurse what would happen once I only had Medicare (we were discussing biologics at the time) and she said their were different programs available. Both my Dermatologist and Rheumatologist have nurses that work hard to find the best course. Also, it could be that you aren't eligible for Taltz but possibly could be eligible for another biologic since they each seem to offer their own programs? Perhaps ask your doctor's office for guidance?

I do know that an inhaler I have is free for one year but if you have ANY type of government insurance you aren't eligible. Which was lousy as I don't have my prescriptions through Medicare at all and my cost is over $100 per month. I'm not sure why that is, but I remember reading that it has more to do with the government saying no than the companies offering it.

Sorry I'm late to say hello, I've been under the weather these past couple of days.

Glad you found your way here!
