Hola everyone,

My name is Emiliano. Just started Cosentyx 5 days ago.

Briefing:

Got Psoriasis in 2012 after a car crash (was told it usually triggers after a traumatic event). Tried everything:

Lotions, foams, creams, diets, Methotrexate, UVB, psychoanalysis, "magic new age" therapies. The curve never stopped going up. More and more by the day.

About 2 month ago, got approvement from my health plan. Before starting, a few general checking (Cholesterol, heart rate, glucemia, etc...), and a reinforcement on vaccines (influenza, Hepatitis, tetanus).

I'm 37 years old, in a decent shape. Run about 20k a week. Got my Quarentine/winter belly (It's cold and dry down here in Patagonia), no more than that.

Started last Tuesday, August 16th. 2020.

My dermatologist said we are going to compare skins clinically on the 16th week, but after only 5 days I'm feeling it.

So far, my whole body (score 40 on this site's test) went from "dirt road" to "paved with patches". No thickness whatsoever. I now can fold my elbow skin, unthinkable 2 weeks ago. And it's been only 5 days! Fingers crossed, hope it gets better and better.

Will post again next Sunday.

Big thanks to the admin's of this site, and to everyone sharing experiences. Means a lot.

PS: English isn't my born language, apologies for the grammar mistakes.

Hello Emiliano,

Welcome to psoriasisclub and thanks for your introduction combined with your cosentyx experiences.
It is really looking good for you !!

Already looking forward to your next update.

Didn’t see any grammar mistakes, but hey... English isn’t my native language either Smile

Thanks for the compliment on psoriasisclub’s members.

Cheers,
Caroline

Hi Emiliano welcome to the forum  Welcome it's good to read your treatment with cosentyx is already working. I have read of others who get fast reaction to it and get clear very quickly. I hope it continues to clear for you but I'm sure it will judging from the clearing so far
Enjoy looking around the site and if you need any help just shout and someone will be here to answer any questions

Hi Emiliano

Welcome to Psoriasis Club!

I've no experience with cosentyx, I'm afraid, but you will get lots of good information and advice on here definitely.

Your English is just fine, didn't notice any errors at all....

Good luck with your treatment and look forward to hearing how you are doing....

Bienvenido Emiliano!

Cosentyx has helped a lot of people, sadly for some reason it just didn't work for me.

Your English is better than mine! (But I'm American and from the south so we're not known for having the best English Big Grin )

I look forward to hearing how things continue with you

Hi Emiliano  Wave

Welcome to the club!

Glad Cosentyx looks really promising for you!  Unfortunately, it's not working wonders for me on the arthritis.

Enjoy spending time on the forum!  Lots of information, personal experiences and great people ?

Welcome to the club Emiliano, I glad to hear you are getting some improvement from Cosentyx. I've been on Cosentyx for just under two years and for me it has been a life-changer. I hope it works as well for you.

Hello Emiliano, I found Cosentyx worked very well, but unfortunately it stopped working for me after 3.5 years.

I hope you keep going in the direction you are, and great idea to keep updates going as it gives you something to look back on. I will be watching your progress and wish you well with it.

I'm pleased to hear Psoriasis Club has helped you, and now you are a member just dive on in and get to know some of our members.

As for your English grammar. I'm British and your grammar looks better than mine, I've never been good at grammar or spelling so don't let it bother you. None of our members will ever pull you up, we take people as they are.

Welcome to Psoriasis Club by the way.  Wave

Fred.

Thanks for all the optimistic replies, everyone! Tomorrow I'll get my second shot, I'll let it work for some days and post again my progress.

One of the concerns I always have is about the arthritis. Am I going to eventually get it? Is it something as the next step on psoriasis or you can never get it?

And another one: is cosentyx actually a flipped coin, that might or might not work, or the expectations are to do its job in high percentages? Because I feel like it was my ultimate option. If it doesn't do its thing  then I don't know.

I'm diving now in the forum to search for those kind of answers.

Gracias !

Hi again Emiliano no there is no certainty with psoriasis that you will ever get the psoriatic arthritis I've had psoriasis bad since I was 17 and I'm now over 70 and never had the arthritis until last year and my drug is controlling it well

With all  the drugs there is a possibility they may not work, but generally they will work and it's best to assume they will work rather than start taking them with negative thoughts, and deal with the possibility of where to go next if they fail ... But it is a lottery and for some a drug will work for long periods and others they fail after a short time

Enjoy searching the forum for information and if you put cosentyx in the search box here Search it will throw up lots of threads to look through
