Even if it was available I wouldn't try it Jim.

Enjoy Wells, if you see anyone I know say hello. Big Grin

No, but it's not available here anyway.

It should be available. As it is approved by the EMA for the whole of the EU.
But you won’t use it, I know.. hihi.
I wouldn’t use it too, as its a bit stupid in the way of release, and we still have a better version over here in the Netherlands.
I hope that at a certain moment Almirall will produce a slow release version. That the finally will see the light. I also hope that e.g. they will be able to get the DMF in the form of MMF straight into the blood stream, thus skipping the intestines, that would help a lot in the side effects.
And… I have the impression that DMF works in a totally different way then is thought by the derms, thus aiming in a more direct way at the cause of psoriasis.

Has anyone tried going back to something that failed previously?  I.e. if you went back to stelara for example....maybe it would work again since you were on other types of biologics after?

Hope that makes sense  Confused

@Caroline Yes it's approved by the EMA but it's not available on prescription in France. So saying it "should" be available is not going to make any difference unless the French healthcare system decides it's worth it, and anyway it doesn;t matter what it's called I will not take DMF  NoNo

@KatT I can't go use the TNF's so they are out and as for going back to Stelara, I did ask that when I went on to Cosentyx but my dermatologist said it is not something they would be happy trying.

I was offered Methotrexate or Otezla as an add on, but I won't take either.

So my options are:

#1 Stick with Tremfya

#2 Another IL23 probably Skrizi

#3 Back to an IL17 with Taltz

But I'll see what she says in September and go from there. Smile

Though it will not be DMF just to remind anyone from the DMF gang.  Tongue

I know Fred. And you know what I think of that. Smile

DMF, is in the explanation of the doc, an internist so expert on the internal processes in the body, who prescribed it the first time to me, the only medication that influences the fundamental problem underlying psoriasis. Smile I have written that somewhere else here on the forum in a now old thread.

But I know you will never try that. Which I still think is a strange attitude for someone so open for almost any treatment like you. Big Grin But hey, it is your decision in the end. Smile That is fine with me.

Well KatT, the problem is that when a biological is failing, that is mostly due to the fact that your body is making anti-bodies against the medication. Just like when you would get Covid-19, then the body makes anti-bodies and will deal with the Covid. Then a next time you get infected, that has no effect, as the anti-bodies immediately will do their job and kill the virus.
The same is in fact happening with the biological.
Also after some time the body will remember it and if reused, it will immediately get rid of it .

So it is not very likely that a once used bio, will start working again after a number of years.

Makes sense Caroline!

As for a combination, I was on one until they saw my liver was affected!  It works well for psoriasis, I was 100% clear, the combination did not improve my PSA though.
