I stumbled across a piece of info and was wondering if anyone else has heard about the benefits of red clover. Along with helping increase bone density and increasing energy, it supposedly helps with psoriasis and eczema. Is this claim horse puckey? It also, according to this article I read, has 11 health benefits.

Its worth a try wintrman, I haven't heard of it's benefits although over the years I have read several articles that appear to offer hope to psoriasis sufferers but generally after the article the story dies and nothing becomes of the treatment
This one may be different
I remember years ago being sold on the idea that banana skins rubbed into psoriasis would clear it but it just made me smell like a banana

I have heard of Red Clover for the treatment of osteoporosis, heart disease, arthritis, skin disorders, cancer, respiratory problems like asthma but there appears to be a lack of hard evidence for its therapeutic value. Like all supplements it is worth being cautious as it is know to interact with some medication including methotrexate and blood thinners.

I have a rare photo of Jim after just a month of banana therapy

so...I had a new discovery today. My ring finger, near the base as tender yesterday. When I looked to see why, I discovered psoriasis there. Clear as day and scaly and sore. And on top of that, it was on both sides. How does this happen to the hand I use to apply the majority of my Enstilar? Which I mentioned isn't doing as good of a job as it was before. December 15th can't come quite fast enough.

On a personal note, I got a call from my brother, Dean. He, while barely keeping his composure, informed me that my eldest brother, Randy is in hospital and was informed he had a brain tumor. So we are patiently, or not so patiently waiting to hear what the next step is. Docs has informed his wife that they will have to do an operation to get a sample of the tumors to see exactly what is causing this. Any prayers for my brother would be gratefully accepted and appreciated. Praise the good Lord above! May he bless me with the strength to help my brothers family during their time of great need. Amen!

I don't pray Wintrman, but I will send some good vibes and hope your brother gets a good result. I went through something similar when they discovered a lump near my brain, nothing came of it but I understand the worry.

Good luck to Randy from Fred.  Thumb

Hi Wintrman,

Government site on health says that none of the claims of red clover has ever been proved true in research.

So scary for you oldest brother Winterman.. Likewise as Fred, I will send lots of good vibes from this side of the world..

Jim, you make a dandy bananny.  Funny picture, Craig.   Smile

Wintrman, I'm sorry to read that your brother Randy has a brain tumor.  I know you will be a good support to Randy and his family.  I can tell from the sensitive, thoughtful posts you share in this club.  The treatments, surgeries, outcomes are all beyond our control, but your kindness and support are going to be sparks of light for your family.

I hope the finger rash just goes away as suddenly as it appeared.

Talked to Randy yesterday for the first time, in person. During our conversation he let me know that the tumor has consumed 40% of his brain. Doctors have told him that there is hope he will only lose 15% of his brain at the end of this on the optimistic side. On the other side of the coin though, he could also lose between 30-40% of his brain as well. I am simply broken hearted. I sit dreading the outcomes of what he told me will be the first of 3 surgeries beginning on Monday. The first one will be exploratory where they will expose 30% of his brain and take tissue, bone and brain matter samples to see what the cause of the tumor is and if it has spread to other areas of his head. Subsequent surgeries, which will follow quickly thereafter, will include the treatment of this tumor.

Seems I am destined to lose my brother to death or lose him (his personality) to these surgeries. Doctors are predicting that he will lose motor function, but the question remains, to what degree. I can't help but grieve. Tears are hard to hold back. But I have to be there for his family and be strong. I can't have them worrying about me when they need me most. God bless him and my God look over him so that he may have the best outcome possible. Amen.
