For years I thought I was the only one who had psoriasis and even though I knew I wasn't, it felt like it, and felt like no one understood.....but not anymore! thanks

I know I had no clue what psoriasis actually was prior to me being diagnosed with it. I always thought it was just something to put a cream or ointment on and it would go away. So I think people just don't understand the disease at all, I know I didn't. I've only had the diagnosis for a few months and although my family is supportive, like you I just didn't feel anyone understood. Here.....everyone understands, it's nice to have that feeling. Glad you joined us! Smile

Hi Cheryl
Just looking back at people using Fumaderm and I thought ...... Cheryl I wonder if the tablets are working as it was early in your treatment when you last wrote......

Hi again,

It's been awhile since I last posted and not much has changed. I had started the initial dose of Fumaderm and now I am waiting to start the real thing. I was lucky I suppose the side effects from the initial dose didn't really amount to much, but I am sure the real thing will be different! I am not to see my dermatologist until the end of the month, a hassle as I will have finished the initial dose for at least 3 weeks by then, but I'm not sure if this will matter.

Once I have started fumaderm for real I will be back and let you know how I'm doing. Have a great day all!

thanks

Hi Cheryl
Nice to see you back.
I'm rather concerned that you say that you will run out of tablets three weeks before you get anymore....... Nooooooo please get on the phone to your doctor and get more. It's important to keep the. Treatment going phone and tell them you need a prescription you must keep the treatment up

Sorry to be dramatic but it is important
Jim

Cheryl,
I agree with Jim.
You should continue the treatment. It is a long term slow working treatment, if you quit now for three weeks, you must start up the building up completely new.
Other wise you will not be able to determine the point where it exactly starts working.

I have been in contact with the Hospital who prescribed it and the consultant is on holiday at present and they dont have any appointments left for me to have until the end of the month. I tried to tell the receptionist that I couldnt have a break in my treatment and her reply was " but we dont have any appointments before then". I felt rather frustrated but couldnt get her to understand! It was like pulling teeth!!

I will await my appointment and see what the consultant says as he was the one who wanted to see me in four weeks and yet he had no appointments.

Thanks for the concern though.

You could try your regular GP, he/she may be able to give you a repeat prescription.
