Great news and such a fast response to the treatment...., I'm glad you are managing the injections on your own now
It's a great success story please keep us updated on your progress Thumb

Well done Tanlou once you have done a few more you will soon see it is so simple, I think the biggest problem people have with injections is they always think of huge needles that hurt, but as you've found they are tiny and only go under the skin.

Keep it up and thanks for updating, I'm enjoying reading your notes.

*I also noticed this thread is rapidly approaching 1000 hits and has only been going a month, so people are interested. Thumb

Good idea to ring the nurse . I'm afraid I can't help and Fred who could signed off for the night a short while ago. I hope if they are side effects they don't get too bad

Application wise biologics for Ps is not much different than insulin used for diabetes. The injections hurt more if you take them ice cold, that is why it's recommend to leave them out for a bit.

Hello Tanlou, chances are you have cold sores before. ?

As far as I know it's not a side effect, but as you are only just starting out on Bio's your immune system is getting a little muddled up. Cold sores are from the herpes virus which stay with you lurking in your nerves, so when we are run down or our immune system is taking a knock it can cause a cold sore.

I would say it's just one of those things, I have had cold sores since a kid and when starting the bio's they did come back. (Very rarely get them now though) I have found Boots Cold Sore Lotion the best thing to use and always keep some handy ready for the dreaded tingle. Re the patches being dry that's probably just the healing process going on with your skin, use plenty of moisturiser. I use Coconut Oil it works great, is low cost, and natural.

Good luck, and please do let us know what your nurse thinks.

I think mataribot misunderstood you. Wink

WOW WOW WOW - saw my dermatologist today - he was so impressed with my skin. He did a survey thing and when he worked out the score - he has agreed that Humira is the best thing for me. He was surprised at how fast the results are showing - 5 injections so far - I am also very pleased - I have started wearing tee shirts in public - yes I know it is cold - but I have waited so long to do this. I am one very happy person right now BigarmKissass
