The only down side kind of things I have found is ---- when you self inject you sometimes do it in the wrong place - I have hit a vein today ( I think it was a vein) and it seemed to take a while to stop the bleeding - was probably only 30 seconds but as it was the first time to happen it seemed longer.  Im sure as I get better at self injecting I will find the perfect fatty place - whats that saying - OH YES - Practice makes perfect LOL

What great news of your clear skin. It does feel great after years of struggling .... I won't say much just congratulations and may your pleasure continue..... You will be able to enjoy the summer when it arrive and not dread it like I used to ..... Glad you have been empowered to get your skin out over christmas... I bet that put a smile on your face......
I've never injected myself but if you put pressure on the site for a couple of minutes it will stop.

Looking forward to following your continued story, your example will give others hope   Thumb

Hello Tanlou thank you for updating, good to hear it's working for you and you can now wear the cloths you want to wear.  Thumb

Re hitting a vein: You haven't hit an important vein as the needle isn't long enough to do that, but you have probably struck a blood vessel under the skin. It's no big deal and if you just hold a swab firmly on it for a while it will be fine, what you want to do is try and pinch a bit more of your skin between your thumb and fingers.

Think of "Pinch an inch" if you can achieve that it should miss the vessels, but yes practise makes perfect. (Or having more than an inch to pinch) 85

One of the best dogs I've ever had was a black lab (mix). My profile pic is a horse so not sure why I just thought that was a pic of your dog.

Very happy the Humira is working for you!

Tongue No, just a generic random picture I picked for my profile from the ones offered here. I'll get around to changing it one day maybe.

I have to be shown how to self administer the injections - and I have to have 2 when she arrives. The nurse will do the first one and im meant to do the second one to show I can self admin - good job im not afraid of needles LOL.  Did a bit of research on the injections - cant believe each one costs nearly £400 - thank the lord im not paying for it - I would need to sell my house!!!!!!

Hi Tanlou,I do self injections every Sat.I am on Enbrel and the cost is $750 a shot which is $3000 a month.I see where a lot of people take 2/ Thumb 50 mg shots.I will have to ask my Rhemmy why I am only on one shot.If I were to double up on my shots the cost would double $6000 a month.Maybe that's why due to the cost.I am getting help from the Enbrel Support Access.I live in the USA and I pay for my Health Ins.$235 a month and I have $4900 out of pocket and deductibles. After I pay this I am covered 100%.It is very expensive for anything pertaining to Healthcare in the USA.I have no choice but to pay.
