Good day , ok a headline post very misleading I am not of course a hero . But the post does have a serious point . Today was my second week on humira and today was my third injection . I have been stressed about this all week long and not looking forward to today , yes I know "get a grip" I hear you cry . The good news is I did it , ok no big deal to some but a nightmare for me . I only share this because being new to the club I have noticed other people with a worry about self injection . Just to say if I can do it anyone can .It's very early days and i'm not expecting miracles BUT I think i'm showing about a 5% improvement . Good luck to all .

Now a may not deserve a medal but I do deserve a posh coffee and fancy cake . Cheers

Congratulations you are a hero in my eyes. It's a needs must situation, self injecting.
With me it has not come to that but I take my hat off to all  "Hero's " that self inject I'm told it does get easier ... Yeh right....  Confused
And wish you great success with your treatment
Just a little cup for your efforts 18

I look forward to following your journey Thumb
Jim

Well done Sounds have another cup.  18

It's so easy to forget those first few shots, that you tend to just take it for granted. But yes it does get easier, I don't even think about it now I just get on with it and in less than a minute it's all done with.

I've never had a fear of needles anyway so I suppose that helps, but you are right there are are others on here that have been a bit nervous about doing the shots themselves. I've spoken to a few via PM and helped get them going, and they usually find after about 4 shots it starts getting a bit easier plus seeing the benefits helps too. Remember the injection is only just under the skin and you're not going into a vein, take some good deep breaths whilst doing it and then sit back and watch for the benefits a few weeks later.

I'm glad you have started this thread as it will help others, and yes please do keep it updated as and when you want then others can follow your progress.

Large portion of cake says give it 10 more shots and you'll be doing it without giving it hardly any thought.  Thumb

Don't worry about it just take it as it comes. Where do you inject I inject in my stomach , I sit on the bed and take a fold of skin after I have measured 4 fingers from my belly button and then inject into the fold of skin. it's getting used to it.
