Hey guys, Im new to this site so just wanna say Hi first of all Wave

My doctor has given me Diprobase cream but I was just wondering about other ways I could keep my skin moisturised and what do you guys use. Does baby oil help or could you gimme another suggestion? I did buy baby oil the other day it was only £1 so if it doesnt work then im not too bothered.
Thanks Smile

Hello Rebecca, Welcome to Psoriasis Club

I like Baby Oil but cant get it in France. I have also tried Vaseline, and a 50x50 mix of Peanut and Olive oil, but I mostly use Coconut Oil see here: Coconut Oil

The winter is the worst, drinking lots of water helps but I find that difficult in the winter. Avoid the expensive moisturisers that make fantastic claims, you will waste your money. Twice a day of any of the above will work just as well.

I've just started to use extra virgin olive oil as a midwife suggested it for my baby, but I'm only applying once a day ... As interestingly a health visitor suggested not to use to much on a baby so their body can learn to moisturise itself .... I'm hoping my skin learns too Thumb

Welcome by the way Thumb

Hi Rebecca
I'm a big fan of Coconut Oil because it smells delicious - good enough to eat (and you can if you want to!). Baby oil is much cheaper and does exactly the same job
I hope you enjoy exploring the forum

Hi Rebecca Welcome

Hope you find the club as helpful as I do! I'm going to give baby oil a try, I find as long as I keep the moisturising up it doesn't really matter what you useThumb

Hi Rebecca.

Welcome to the forum!!

Baby oil is great if you apply it straight away after a bath or shower to damp skin and let it soak in... helps to retain the moisture in the skin. Downside is it makes your dry skin flake off quite easily.

I use aloe vera. Picked it up in tenerife on holiday and it's fantastic and cheap.
