Hello, I was diagnosed with Palma Plantar 2 years ago, no topical treatments worked at all. Light treatment helped my hands become more manageable, but feet have been a nightmare. Been reduced to a mobility scooter to get about as feet just too painful. Been on Acitretin for 18 months, had quite an improvement but side effects got too bad, loss of hair, reoccurring eye infections and painful lips, mouth and nose. Just started Fumaderm 2 weeks ago

Hi Debbie  Welcome  to the forum, sorry you have had such a rough time with your psoriasis, but you have come to a great place for support and advice we are quite small  but a friendly group of sufferers sharing our experiences
For me it's always good to meet another Fumaderm user....and then to find she's a Norwich girl well  that's great.......  you will probably be under the same dermatologist that I am at the Norfolk and Norwich hospital  Thumb For me Fumaderm  has been life changing and I hope it will do its magic for you as well.
I'm guessing you are still on Fumaderm initial and I hope the side effects aren't to bad for you, if you have problems come and talk there are ways to get through the early stages when the side effects might be unpleasant
It is not a quick fix it will take a bit of time for it to work .. But when it does work it should be long lasting
I will take particular interest in your journey if you post updates and will be pleased to answer any questions you may have

Welcome Debbie! I was on Acitretin and thankfully didn't suffer many side effects, and it helped me clear, but we're all different and sadly there isn't a treatment that works for everyone. Fumaderm (along with other variations with the same drug) has helped many people here on the forum so I really hope it works for you and you see improvement soon!

Hello Debbie,

Welcome over here!

Hopefully the Fumaderm will start to help you. Take your time for it and don't give up, that is an important thing. Fumaderm is a "slow" one, it takes time for it to work.
Do a gradual build up. For coping with possible side effects, we will be here to explain and help to get your mind of them.

Myself I am also on DMF, but from another producer in the Netherlands, so I know the stuff and it helped me greatly.

Have fun with us, because that is also a Psoriasis reducing factor.

Hello Debbie  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

We have a couple of other members with Palma Plantar so you're not alone, let's hope the Fumaderm works. It will be interesting to follow your journey as I don't think we have another member using it with Palma Plantar.

Regards.

Fred.

*I will move this thread to Introductions as it will get noticed better, but don't hesitate to start new threads if you want.

Ok Debbie are you taking the tablets with a meal and washing down with plenty of fluid.
It can be unpleasant but it should be manageable .., Caroline has suggested taking them with yoghurt. Keep coming back and talking
.the cramps will get less as time goes on but the nausea I never experienced myself but if you take them with meals and fluid should make a difference
The fact you are having side effects means that the drug is having an effect on your body which is a positive to take from the discomfort
Thanks for posting, please keep us informed, together as a group we should get you through the initial stages till you start seeing an improvement  Thumb

Yes keep at it, sometimes treatments can upset our systems for a while but in the long run it is best to give it a good try. When I first went on to Stelara I didn't like the feeling of tiredness or flu like feelings, although they were short lived and minor I'm glad I stuck with it as I'm now 5 years in and still doing well.

I know it's not Fumaderm, but it's something to bear in mind.

I would say keep going, Fumaderm has shown good results.   Thumb
