I have heard of extra virgin olive oil but never coconut oil. Where can I get it.

I get mine from Amazon, I've tried most and found Biona to be the best.

Yes Amazon is a good option. They also see in health stores.Extra virgin raw organic is best.

I use coconut oil as well (Fred told me about it and I gave it a try) and I find it works as well if not better than the prescription topicals I've used.

Lots of good info here and thanks for sharing as it's always great to hear other people's experiences and what works for them. I'm a firm believer that we are all different, we represent a lot of different types and severities of psoriasis and what works for one may not work for another but it's nice to hear all the treatments people are using.

Welcome!!

Welcome!!

Thanks.I was clear of my psoriasis when I started using it after my holiday.Certainly has helped me keep it at bay.Hard to get dry skin when your using this stuff frequently. In the past I have been hospitalised by my psoriasis so I certainly know the bad times. It has certainly been my experience that the clearer you are the easier it is to contain.Sadly my beloved red wine has had to be sacrificed as this has been proved to be trigger for me.Thanks again.paul.

Confused shame about the red wine being a trigger, is all other alcohol ok?
And yes if you can keep on top of it and maintain a positive attitude , I'm sure it helps

Any tips on making coconut oil easier to use? I find it really messy and runny as soon as I get it on my hands..

I keep mine in the fridge so it stays solid and then it's easier to use its hard so you don't get so much when tpyou put your fingers in and just use a little at a time
I use it every day since Fred put me on to it and I just do my arms and legs but little is good it soon spreads with a bit of rubbing and a small 90g tub lasts me about 2 months

You can melt it in it's container by adding to a bowl off hot water, pour in Ice cube trays and keep it in the Fridge (not the freezer) and take a cube out as you need it, you can then rub it on and it will slowly melt with your body temperature.
