Hi everyone ,

Week 3 and 1 day -- all going well , skin flattening and getting lighter at rapid speed .
Hands look almost normal . Arms -- plaques flat and almost same colour as normal skin. Using
lots of  bio oil , hoping it helps with multi coloured swap shop effect!!

Legs - quite flat, still a fair bit of colour. Torso quite a few dots but getting lighter.

Ears clear on outside, slight scaling inside.  No scale elsewhere.

ITCH --- Almost gone  Big Grin  I am actually getting a full nights sleep without my Drambuie self medication.

Side effects -- none , as far as I can tell.

Hoover and washing machine must be enjoying the rest.

2nd jab this Friday .

Not much more to add really, except if I was to wear a t.shirt , from a wee distance you would never know  shhh       keep progressing this way , I might actually have to buy one.

Hope your all well.

Good evening Angie, I'm well thank you.

Sounding good, it still manages to amaze me how good Stelara is. You sound like it's going well, but hold onto your excitement a T-shirt coming up to Autumn in Scotland. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I'm very pleased for you Angie, long may it continue.

Hi,

Update: injection 2 - did 3 days ago. Didn't do as well as first one . For some reason I must not have pushed all way down syringe as needle didn't retract on its own. Thought I had and retracted needle back and when out of skin it went in to syringe and spurted out some of the liquid ! Spank

It didn't look much and now I'm a paranoid android , thinking I might have wasted some of it. Hopefully not.

Skin on legs improving , still quite marked but improving. Side effects - none to note really. Have had a slight headache day or so after jags but they have been coinciding with hormone fluctuations, which would normally cause headaches.  Wall

I have derm appointment in just over two weeks. May I ask if anyone gets their bloods done on stelera and how often. I'm sure I read after 3 months blood should be done . Also if anyone has reached their UVB limits (or almost) like me, do you get a yearly skin examination .  I did once ask about this as my photo therapy nurse had said I was reaching the limit where my skin should be checked yearly. Needless to say I did ask my derm when I was taking cyclosporine and she dismissed it.  NoNo

Hope your all well.

Sorry to de rail this thread again, but I just cannot help myself. We do not have any cheese and stelara problems here in the US, because are cheese is closely related to plastic.

Hi Angie I have never been on a bio drug so can't help with how often they should test your bloods

But I was told I had my lifetime allowance of UV treatment, and they would not give me more .. That's when I started the tablet route about 5 years ago.... I see my dermatologist every 3 months  and never once have I had my skin checked. But I keep a close eye on my own and if I was concerned I would bring it up at the meetings

Hello Angie I sometimes lost some when I first started using it, it does take a little while to get used to it but the couple of times I lost a little it didn't make any difference. Obviously if you lost it all it would be good, a little bit shouldn't make a lot of difference but I would mention it at your next appointment as they may want to make a note. They may also offer to show you again, if you don't feel confident enough for your next shot.

As for bloods I have one a week before my next shot, I monitor the results and can contact my dermatologist but she also gets a copy and I try to work my next visit in conjunction with my prescription.

Re UVB limits I've never had enough light treatment to be checked, having said that I have my skin checked at every appointment with my dermatologist. It's standard practise and sometimes they set the trainees onto me as it's a training hospital. I also offer skin biopsies if they ever need any or they notice something they would like to investigate, so I'm very well monitored.

Sounds like your are going in the right direction to me.  Thumb

@Matari I thought cheese in the USA came in a squeezey bottle. Big Grin

See Angie I told you that all would be well and the injection would be no trouble .Now you are clearing well you have only clear skin to look forward to mind you I would still keep up the Drambuie as it sounds an excellent thing to do.
I have always had a blood test every 3 months on Stelara though I am not sure if that is just my derm being double sure or normal practice.
I cannot have anymore UV in any form as I have had maximum dose.
Happy Days Angie.
