Hello everyone , I have been living with psoriasis for over 50 years . in hospital 3 maybe 4 times over 80 percent a few times .I have had a few periods of over 5 years when it has been under control.
I have learned a lot if anyone has any questions. Cool

Hello Hamish  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

I won't bother pointing you to any threads as after 50 years you probably know enough about psoriasis, so I will say just dive on in you will find us a friendly bunch.

Regards.

Fred.

Hi Hamish and  Welcome  to the forum as Fred has already said you will find us a very friendly group of sufferers all with psoriasis in common .
I like you have been a sufferer for around the same time as you and have been through all the creams and uv and puva, as far as other treatments just methotrexate which disagreed with me, and now my current treatment Fumaderm has kept me virtually clear for over 4 years.
Thank you for inviting questions that is very thoughtful.

My only question is what treatment are you currently on?

I hope you enjoy the forum that Fred has set up for us, and the information on here is very comprehensive, we also have an active off topic section, I hope we will see you there some time
Jim

I use the Portuguese equivalent to dermovate .i stopped salt and sugar years ago,and very rarely eat red meat .I don't have much of a problem in the summer as i have an hour or two in the sun most days although the skin on my forearm is very thin too much sun over the years .
one small tube of hydrocortizone for the f lectures ie under arms and groin, lasts two or three months.
the more you worry about it the worse it gets.
eat lots of fruit drink lots of water get some sun and chill out keep the blood pressure
 down good luck

Hamish you are very lucky living in a sunny country, I used to find that the sun worked well to clear me. Unfortunately we don't very often get enough sun to clear us unless we get an unusual summer.
I would think the steroid cream is most likely the cause of the thin skin though
I agree worry and stress can make it worse, it sounds to me as if you have a good life. I hope you are enjoying the forum Thumb

Welcome! We lived on Terceira Island in the Azores back in the early 1990's. Absolutely beautiful place!

There's lots of info to be found here, although sounds like you've found what works for you. This forum has a great group of people who are very supportive of one another. Glad you found your way here! Smile

Hi Hamish.

What do you mean by "under control"? What did you knock your pasi down to?

Cheers,

Bill

Hi Hamish, sounds like that you and I have a lot in common regarding the length of time we have had P and the times we have been in hospital. Looks like you have got it sorted though I do envy you the sun .
Welcome to the forum.
