Hi All

Strange readings on a breathalyzer on the morning after one a beer ( one with my dinner the night before 6.30pm )

The reading was that I was over limit at 10 am in morning.

After a lot a of testing stopping tabs etc and speaking to a few people including the people from the breathalyzer maker.

Fumaderm not on there list of drugs which affect the breathalyzer. ( mine is top rated )

TEST

So this morning at 8 am Reading at zero

Took 120mg with beans on toast. mmmmmm

Retest at 10 am still at zero

Retested at 12 noon Guess what 0.88 over the legal limit to drive

Retested at 12.20 pm now 0.92 so over the limit

By the way I have retested with chemical type like blow in the bag type both read zero just now (thats because of no alcohol)

Please let me know if anyone else has come across this problem (big)

Also I am only on two tabs a day at the moment working up to 6 a day.

Baz

That is very odd. The only thing I could think of would be the breathalyser is at fault, but it is worrying to think you could be over the limit and risk prosecution.

I suppose the only way to find out is to try another make of breathalyser or better still go to your local police station and ask if there is a way of testing it against their machine.

I've never heard of Fumaderm (DMF) effecting a breathalyser reading, but I'm sure the DMF gang will be interested.

I look forward to replies and please do keep us updated as this is a worrying problem.

Hi again I very much doubt if it's got anything to do with the Fumaderm, although I stand to be corrected if anyone knows better.....
I would think it's more to do with your metabolism dealing with the alcohol, I have never been breathalysed in the last few years that I have been on Fumaderm so I'm not sure if it's hanging around or not.

You should certainly be clearing a couple of units of alcohol in a twelve hour period. And shouldn't be getting raised levels today after a zero reading earlier in the day

Let's hope someone may have an answer for you

I am certainly interested. Smile
But don't know anything about it, so I am just diving into it by searching on the internet, did not find any relation yet.
The problem must be in the unit.

I have been breath analyzed also, but always green, as I don't drink when driving. Still... using DMF.

Maybe Jim could walk to the police and ask them to check his breath ?

There is no information findable on the Internet that says anything on DMF and false readings with the Breathalyzer.

So it is either the Breathalyzer itself that is wrong.
Strategy to check is go to the producer and have it checked and have your breath checked with another breathalyzer.

Or it is the fact that when the DMF is entering your bloodstream, your breath is changing. They say that one of the side effects is shortness of breath (I have never experienced that myself), so there may be a link to your breath.
Still then the problem is probably in the Breathalyzer as this triggers on non-alcoholic things.

@Jim, by the way, I find a lot of references to T3cfid3ra. The building up over there is terrible ... They start with twice a day 120 mg and within 7 days they go to 240 twice a day. The side effects they preliminary describe are awful (and wrong) and the risks on PML are also large.

Just a thought and I don't know if it's ridiculous...I'm wondering if something is fermenting in your stomach perhaps a yeast infection may be to blame. Just a thought maybe a long way off the mark Confused
