Hi

Been lurking for a couple of days so thought I would sign up.

My names Sam and I have what I would describe as Chronic Psoriasis covering about 90% or more of my body.

I'm 26 years old and it came out at the age of about 22 when I went through a bad split up with the mother of my child. (stress induced?)

I have tried all the steroid creams from my doctor and also the moisturiser creams - Doublebase etc.

But now i've decided it's finally time to try and get my Psoriasis under control, It's had a hold on me for too long and affects my self confidence way too much!

I like the idea of the natural treatment route and as a result of reading this forum will be trying Hemp oil, Coconut oil and possibly Bicarbinate of Soda.

Very recently (last couple of weeks) I have been using a natural cream called Sorion, It's very expensive from Amazon BUT it has so far had the best results so i'm going to keep on using it too.

I'd like to share some pictures if i'm allowed to? Hopefully then I can track my own progress.

Thanks for reading.

Hi Sam welcome to the forum .... You have come to a great place for impartial advice as this site is totally  independent and free from scams or spam, what you will read on here is a full explanation of most treatments  and members experiences

Make yourself at home reading the threads and if you have any questions just shout and someone will come to assist you

I think the cream you have chosen is a good moisturiser and I hope it does help you. But in my opinion you would be better getting a referral to a dermatologist, and get some conventional medication

There are many treatments that can help which your doctor cannot prescribe

And yes pictures are allowed here as long as they are your images and not promoting a product  Thumb

There are not many rules, .... but those that we have are all agreed to on the registration, and are sensible and there to protect us all.....

Hello Sam  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

Sorion is just a moisturiser and to be honest I doubt you will see long lasting results. And at £14.90 for 50 Gms I hope you have a very fat wallet. You say you are 90% covered, so I would say you're going to need about 3 tubes per day that comes out at £16224 per year. Ouch!

Ingredients: Vaseline, cococnut oil, microcrystalline wax, paraffin wax, Indian Lilac, turmeric, Dyer's Madder, Sweet Indrajao, perfume, butylated hydroxyanisole, titandioxyd.

Get yourself referred to a dermatologist because you are going to struggle to clear 90% coverage of chronic psoriasis without their help.

Yes you can post images as long as like Jim said. You are the owner of the images and they don't include any advertising or are offensive.

Regards.

Fred.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Yes i'm just using the Sorion for the visible parts, side of face and neck area etc and it's made such a difference so i don't care about the price at the moment.

Referral to a dermatologist is in progress.

Hi there Sam

I joined this forum just a few weeks ago and have received more useful info here than I have in the last 40 years from my GP / various dermatologists.
Over the past few decades I have been through various prescribed creams, phototherapy sessions  - both UVA and UVB  and am now trying Fumaderm for the second time. I couldn't cope the first time around and foolishly dropped off the treatment.  A few weeks ago I was 85% covered with plaque psoriasis - now I reckon its down to 15% and not in any visible areas at the moment.

This time, like you, I am DETERMINED to get this bloody thing under control and I've started a journal with photos on this site. You are welcome to look through it of course. I've put it in the members only section which I think you'll be able to access - should you want to of course! - after you have made 10 posts on the forum.

Good luck to you - hope to chat with you regularly as you progress through your treatment.  I guess you need to gather as much information (ammunition!) as you can before your dermatologist appointment comes through.

Welcome to the site

Cheers

Kit

Hi Sam and welcome.

I had psoriasis for years and it just started to get worse and the creams less effective so I went to my GP and got on the treadmill.

Fortunately for me MTX is working, BUT I think you need to be pretty insistent with your GP as they are the first port of call. Then be insistent with the consultant.

If your not happy with your treatment regime tell them, if its not effective, tell them.

However do give it time to take effect.

Hi Sam nice to meet you!

With regards to the cream, I'd probably use something as long as it works. Sometimes you can persuade the doc to put things on your script but I don't think that kind of thing will be on their list of products.

I'd be asking for a referral, with that sort of coverage you should get seen and it's impractical to use creams on that large an area.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes, really appreciate it!

Kit, is Fumaderm an immune suppressant? I'm really anxious that my dermatologist is probably going to recommend that sort of treatment, I'd be interested to know why you couldn't cope with the treatment, was it the side effects?

Also how responsive was UV therapy for you?

I will certainly take a look at your pictures, I plan to start my own Journal too, just so i can look at how i'm improving, or not lol..
