I agree it's a war, but it's no good wondering if it's the bow and arrows that are beating your opponent or the gun and bullets.
If you are winning do you then decide you don't need the guns as it might have been the bow and arrows

Nail on the head Jim.  good post

Yes but where I do agree is times when you have perhaps used creams and failed, gone onto either an oral or injected drug and that doesn't completely do the job of clearing .....then it's worth trying to add a cream to the equation
Bill you say you would have progressed more quickly which is probably true,
But on the other hand you have got close to clearance using just one drug, and only now know that a  combination works for you.
I'm sure you would be happier just using one treatment instead of a combination ...wouldn't you ?

I'm not on about times when it fails. I'm on about trying a new treatment............................................. Oh never mind, let's not take Ralph's thread.

That is why you go with the advice. For DMF the concurrent use of topicals is recommended. There does not seem to be a recommendation for Cosentyx. (Not even coconut oil, Fred?)

Biologic Therapy With or Without Topical Treatment in Psoriasis: What Does the Current Evidence Say?

< In general, the addition of adjuvant topical therapy to systemic biologic therapy allowed for a reduction in dosage and side effects of both agents, maintenance of initial response to biologics, treatment of recalcitrant lesions in partial responders, and potential acceleration of response to biologic therapies. The current data, though limited, suggest that using topical therapies as adjunct treatment to biologics is a well tolerated and effective means of controlling psoriasis and improving quality of life for patients.>

You do realise that I am an obstinate bugger dont you Fred?

hey guys, all these threads and I didnt even get a email notification?? Both of you are correct about using/not using cream. The other reason I am not using cream is that I am still wearing pants due to the temp's up here in NY Smile so why rush the progression? Hells, I have had it for several years now, another 2 months wont hurt Smile I am so shocked how fast my body has changed its like a freaking dream. All my close friends (not many) and girlfriend are shocked with the results they see. My right forearm and elbow is now completely clear. My left knee is slowly getting there. Tomorrow is week 4 Smile

I can understand why you aren't using topicals. I found the freedom from the mess quite liberating. Hopefully you will clear entirely, but keep topicals in mind if you have a couple of recalcitrant spots.

Keep smashing your p!

Hi guys, longtime no talk. I hope you are all doing well with your psoriasis battles. This past Friday was week 5 for me and the first stage is done. I now take one shot every 28 days to maintain it. So far I have not have had any side effects to report. I have read many people had fatigue or the runs, I didnt get any of that yet. I am incredibly happy to report I have NO plaque psoriasis on my body at this time. Everything has cleared up incredibly well. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think the medicine would work this well. Obv there is no guarantee of it not popping up one day and I do worry about it at times but I need to clear my mind and enjoy today and not worry about tomorrow. My legs still have a slight red tint to them where the psoriasis was for years, It obv needs more time to heel. I will continue updating you guys and will start reading other members posts so I can be more active on this board. I thank you guys for the support you provided me as well.
