Afternoon all,

A wee update:  Coming up to week 25, due next injection week 29 as delayed last one for 1 week.
Have noticed P creeping back in the last 10 days.  Mostly small spots randomly placed. Scalp pretty itchy, quite
a few spots but no scaling.   Slight scale in one ear and on my hip, (where is always the worst patch of P, and always
was the itchiest).  Elbows - spots appearing , legs also.  So I have the silkis back out and hopefully will keep it at bay
until next injection. (Though, I have yet to find a topical, without steroid, that makes a difference).

Had bloods done, and I have since got a print out of these and cholesterol is up again to 5.7. and the good cholesterol also high.
I asked my GP about this and he said it could be my age (Cheeky thing !  Spank ) I have never had a problem with
cholesterol before.  So not sure if a side effect or not?

On the note of side effects, nothing to report, all good.  Dreams are a lot less, nail and hair growth normal.  Maybe Stelara is
losing a bit of its efficiency with me, hopefully not.

Well I have 4 weeks 3 days until next jag, so will be more proactive with cream, moisturising etc.

I am still happy with the clearance I have, it is still a massive , massive difference.

I do still stalk you all from my phone, when I get a minute, but struggle to get time to log in and join in. Ha Ha
But if I come across anything I think my 2 pence worth would help, I will.

Hope your all well.

Hi Angie..... I love your wee updates ....It's good to know you are stalking us even without logging in......we had better be careful what we say about you  Big Grin

Shame the psoriasis is creeping back, can you ask your dermatologist to bring the next injection forward ?

Hope you can get back to clearer skin soon Thumb

Hello Stalker Angie

Cholesterol isn't a side effect and I wouldn't worry to much about it. They told me mine was to high and I needed to go on Statins for the rest of my life to control it. However I never did use them and at my next check the levels were normal. When the doctor said "That is good news" I said yes it is considering I never used them.  Big Grin Since then they have never mentioned it again, and the last time it was checked all was well and I'm on 90mg of Stelara.

Talking of 90mg. I found it worked better for me, but they do only recommend it at 100kg +. Now I'm not saying you are 100kg+ but if you're not a twig then it may be worth asking.

Another thing is like Jim said to see if they will bring it forward. I tried every 8 weeks and it did help, but the 90mg seems best for me (I'm currently 95kg)

Also Stelara although can work quickly it can take time to get your body used to it. Try keeping a note from week 1 up to week 12 and see if there is a pattern. I find it starts tailing off a bit around week 10.

Millions of people around the world take medications known as statins to lower their cholesterol.

The current value of the cholesterol-lowering drug industry is estimated at around $29 billion -- and this is clearly a conservative estimate considering spending on cholesterol drugs in the United States alone reached nearly $19 billion in 2010.

There is a documentary called: " $29 Billion Reasons to Lie About Cholesterol"

Now do you own choice if you think you need to treat your cholesterol........

oops  Fred !!!!  We agreed !  Doh

Afternoon All

A wee quick update:  Life been getting in the way a bit recently so I'm late to the party again  Spank

Week 35,  6 weeks since last injection.

Not getting as good results as 1st two injections, but still very happy with results.

P on elbows, scalp, dots around legs and arms.  Little in ears and my usual bit on my hip.

Spoke with Derm and she advises to give it time to settle and work.  As far as I'm concerned it is working, - good , and
to be honest what I usually look like is a far cry from what I look like now.  (Wonderful cosmetic surgeon, I found) Ha Ha

So as long as it doesn't deteriorate much further than this, I am still very happy with results.

If it was to show less efficiency I will ask about the 8 week system (under 60Kgs Fred, so probably wouldn't get the double dose)

She has given me the lovely, stinking Psoriderm to go back on to , after offering Dovebet, which I refused.  Not long finished my
bedroom too, which is mainly White - everywhere, walls, bed linen etc etc, So psoriderm not exactly fitting in with my new
rock and roll lifestyle  Tongue

Cholesterol slightly down this time to 5.4,  Apparently that's good for the West of Scotland, My GP informed me!!  Spank

Hope your all well, and sorry for being AWOL so long, but as usual I am stalking from afar.

Be well

Angie Thumb

P.S Almost forgot, staining on legs is not showing any sign of leaving, advised it will go in time, or not!  Whistle

Hello Angie good to see you again, and thank you for taking the time from your rock and roll lifestyle to visit us. Big Grin

Yes it does take a little time to settle down. And don't forget you have two shots to get it going and then go onto one for the maintenance does, so it's like getting a big hit and then taming it down a bit.

Most will want to keep you on 12 weeks at 45mg, and at that weight they wouldn't give you 90mg. They may consider 10 weeks before diving in at 8, but I would say "Steady Girl, be patient" it will get better.

My legs were the last to clear, and it does sometimes come back a little. But keep going, and like I said to GB 12 weeks between one simple shot is the best part.

Hi Angie great to hear from you, you are always welcome at the party as long as you bring a bottle  Big Grin

It's good you are enjoying being almost clear hopefully the Stelara will settle down and give you long term clearance and you can have a good summer and get a few Ray's on your skin  ( 85 sorry I forgot west coast of Scotland )

Why not ask for Dovonex it's not steroid it's vitamin d derivative or use some of Freds favourite coconut oil it moisturises and soaks in well

Don't worry about being AWOL although we usually send Grizzly out to get absentees Whip
Good to see you
Jim

Thanks Fred, Jim & GB,

Fred - Yeah will go steady, still more than happy with results at moment.

Jim - I had been using silkis, which made no difference, on the Vit D front.  Still not got round to the
Psoriderm though!  Whistle   Been using coconut oil for a while, but being lazy recently  Spank ,

GB - Thanks, yep all good here.  Hope your well.
