after 40 odd years of constantly being classed as moderate to chronically affected by Pso anything that allows me to feel good about my skin I consider to be clear, Of course I am realistic about my condition and don't really expect to 100% free. However the medics are a bit more fussy than me and measure all actual or suspected areas of Pso ( even patches of dry skin) Bill I hope that answers you sarcastic post,

Hi Tom I consider myself clear although I have a very small patch on my elbow and one on my hip they are both very small and serve to remind me that I do still have the disease and don't forget the tablets..and warn me if they ecpver start op flaking

I will happily live with my 2 patches and call my self clear although not 100%

I would find it difficult to put a percentage on my coverage... But I'm guessing under 1%

More surprise than sarcasm. Where is the objectivity in "feel good" reporting of results? In my party-pooper world even discoloured skin is not "clear". It's not as if we are talking about Schroedinger's cat is it?

There two ways of looking at it Bill.

#1 Yes you are right, if one has even .09% then they are not clear.

#2 Using the word "Clear" helps us live with it and gives us hope.

I would class myself as clear, but yes if you look closely there is psoriasis. I think psoriasis is bad enough to live with without going into the percentages.

Maybe I should say "clearer" or put 99% clear. But at the end of the day I can't be arsed to get to technical about it and I too refer to myself as "Clear" No it's not 100% correct, but it works for me.

Fred.

Hi folks - just thought I would let you know I have been taken off the trial due to a mix up at the hospital which could have caused contamination of the data, currently my skin is in good order and is expected to remain so for the next 12 or so weeks- when the Dr will look at a similar type of medication for me, but one that is in general use for treating medium to chronic sufferers (can't remember it's name at this time)will keep you all posted.

TOM

Oh that's a shame Tom it's just got approval in the EU too. Taltz (ixekizumab) gets EU approval for Psoriasis

I would say the other one you mention is Cosentyx, it's getting very good results.

You can find a list of all the prescribed bio's here: Biological Treatments For Psoriasis

That's a shame, it was doing so well, but if you do get a similar drug that targets IL17 such as cosentyx it should work just as well  Thumb

Sorry, Dave. I did not mean to belittle anyone's sense of achievement against this crappy illness. I am more concerned with the assessment standards in clinical trials and the potential lack of objectivity in reporting results to patients for commercial gain. I have been slowly reducing my disease for nearly 3 1/2 years, and I believe that staying optimistic is of great importance. Against this I witnessed a few claims of "clear" that were far from "clear", and it did anger me a little, so for any offence caused I apologise. From my perspective, 100% is Michael Gambon in The Singing Detective.

Cheers,

Bill

No Bill I am just asking because I don't really know how the percentage is worked out, I have been in hospital three times with the dam P and the last time I was almost as bad as The Singing Detective apart from I did not have it all over my face just under where my beard was. That means that I would only be rated at around 96% ? coverage though again I am unsure how it's rated as I had several different types of P . I say at the moment I am 99% clear on the Stelara because I still have some P but not a lot in and around my ears and a couple of small patches that are almost gone as I am using Doverbet on them. I am ,as I say, just interested in how the P is rated and assessed ,anyway I am going off topic sorry Fred.
