Ouch let's hope it's not shingles, goo idea to seek your dermatologists advice.

Feeling tired, dizzy and nauseas are common side effects, some people get them worse than others.

Hi Michele, I did not have many side effects when I started on MTX , you said that the P on your foot had got 10% larger but sometimes if it's started to flatten it makes it look bigger. Has the P itself started to smooth out and not be as pronounced . I hope that your visit to the dermatologist has gone well and it's not anything at all to worry about on your back. Are you taking the folic acid Ok as sometimes this can help with the side effects.
Take care and all the best Dave

Hey,

I had my 4th mtx dose last Thursday, everything is ok for the moment, excepting the shingles (it is confirmed). I will have new blood tests this week, hope no problems occurs. Here we had Easter, but I'm not a religious guy and I also can't have alcohol being on mtx Smile

Cheers!

Hi Michele thanks for the update, but I'm sorry to hear about the shingles that can be nasty

It's good you aren't having any bad side effects I hope the methotrexate will get you clear...

Yes Easter has come and gone here ...I'm like you and not religious, but enjoy the extra days holiday, shame about the alcohol, I enjoy a drink ( not excessive ) but wiser with the methotrexate to leave it alone

Is your skin getting better on your foot that was a concern last time you posted , is that getting any better?

Jim

I'm not sure if the P spot on my left foot is getting better or not...

It seems that the affected skin is getting thinner.

If it's confirmed as shingles you may be interested what the NHS say. I know it's not your country but the NHS information is relaiable.

If you are taking methotrexate and have never had chickenpox you may be at risk of severe infection from the virus which causes chickenpox and shingles. If you come into close contact with someone who has either of these conditions, you should contact your doctor or nurse
promptly as you may need special treatment.

Some also suggest stopping methotrexate whilst you have shingles.

I've not had them myself but a friend of mine did and it's not nice. I hope you feel better soon.

Hello guys, I hope all of you are doing ok. I lost the number of weeks since I started the treatment, but my skin looks better. I'm not 100% clean from P, but I feel much much better. Some spots just don't heal completely, also the curved nail is still the same. The spots where I had p are darker than the rest of the skin.
Yesterday I started going to gym, and because my diet (I don't eat meat) I need proteins. A fried recommended me whey protein.
Do you think that these nutritional supplements can affect me?

Thank you,

Have a nice day!

Hi Michele you started your treatment the 7th April 7 weeks ago if that helps,I found looking back over your thread

It seems as if the methotrexate  is working well for you and it will probably take time to completely clear you but for such a short time it sounds good to me

Diet never affects my psoriasis I have always eaten wnat I want without it affecting my skin, but we are all different and some people say diet can help the psoriasis
Have a look at The anti-inflamatory food pyramid. For a list of beneficial foods and foods to avoid, but I don't know about nutritional supplements

Life is good when the psoriasis fades Thumb

Hello Michele good to see you back again.

I just noticed in your profile it says you are using Humira I thought you were on Methotrexate only?

I can't comment on "nutritional supplements" as I'm a firm believer of getting what you need from your diet and letting your body do it's own thing.

Hi Michele,

Whey protein was trialled as a supplement in a study of psoriasis patients and was found to be beneficial in many cases. In my experimentation secondary treatments tend to be very distant seconds. The whey protein study can be found online.
