Hi Meggy and welcome to the Club 
and more importantly the Acitretin gang.
I would love to be able to tell you your side effects will be fleeting and not in the slightest bothersome.
Sadly only time will tell.
What I would suggest is patience. One thing this thing isn't is fast.
If you can, get some sun on your blotches it will help speed up clearance.
I had a similar experience to Bav with his paper trick but I lost that super power ages ago. What I do have is a recurring 2 weeks of dry lips, 2 weeks of peeling hands, followed by 2 weeks of peeling feet. What I don't understand is why after loosing a bucket full of skin I haven't lost any weight
You are in the best and safest place on 'tinternet and the inmates are always more than happy to answer any of you questions. All you will ever get is good clean honest answers from fellow sufferers.
