Ilumetri in Europe / Ilumya in the USA: (generic name tildrakizumab)

Ilumya  / Ilumetri: Is taken by injection under the skin and after tuition the patient can do this themselves, see first post in this thread for some tips. The recommended starting dose of Ilumya  / Ilumetri is 100 mg* at week 0 and week 4 with a maintenance dose of 100 mg* every 12 weeks. Treatment will usually be stopped if there is no improvement after 12 - 16 weeks.

*Note: A double dose of 200 mg may be recommended for those over 90 Kg or with a very high PASI score.

Patients should be checked for tuberculosis (TB) before taking Ilumya  / Ilumetri and you should have regular blood tests.

Who should not take Ilumya  / Ilumetri?
  • If you have an infection that does not go away or that keeps coming back.
  • If you have TB or have been in close contact with someone with TB.
  • If you have recently received or are scheduled to receive a vaccine (immunization). You should avoid receiving live vaccines.
  • If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known if Ilumya  / Ilumetri can harm your unborn baby.
  • If you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if Ilumya  / Ilumetri passes into your breast milk.
  • Ilumya  / Ilumetri is not approved for under 18s.

What should I watch for after starting Ilumya  / Ilumetri?
  • Fever, sweats, chills, muscle aches, weight loss, cough.
  • Warm, red, or painful skin or sores on your body different from your psoriasis.
  • Diarrhea or stomach pain.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Burning when you urinate or urinating more often than normal.
  • Blood in your phlegm (mucus).

The most common side effects of Ilumya  / Ilumetri include: Upper respiratory infections, injection site reactions and diarrhoea.
