I hate it when the docs try and scare us like that!
I have cracks that bleed on my hands and even though I am somewhat a tomboy and I am always handling rusty dirty stuff I have never had an infection.
I use gold bond hand sanitizer because it doesn't burn like the others.
Like Fred said....don't worry to much about it. Just don't go barefoot when your feet are bad.
