I have had a reply on Twitter about this thread from an NHS inflammatory clinical nurse specializing in dermatology.

It’s a direct failure due to covid but also because of the inappropriate referral system for 2ww and the pressures that puts the Derm depts under to prioritise these patients over the inflammatory patients.
