In their defence they have to come up with a new word that has never been used anywhere in the world. The long name is used by the World Health Organization system which helps recognize drugs, a bit like the Latin name of a plant or animal.

It made up from the type of drug, what it targets, what it's made from and it's own unique code. Then they have to choose a brand name/word that has never been used that the patients can use.
