Very sorry Stelara is not working for you after so many years. Humira is another bio generally used in the states after on has stopped working.
Why do biologics a stop working? That is when the body builds up antigens against the drug. As the drug shuts down one pathway to shut down to the immune system that P. is attacking the body. Ask UR doctor what other bio he recommends.
Many struggle with the same issues and change one bio drug to another.
While using Stelara, or any bio drug you will need frequent blood tests at your doctor's office.
You must remain under the care of a doctor while you are receiving Stelara or any bio product .
I go in next month for a bio drug injection in my finger. Although all fingers are curled and misshapen. Hoping it will open my finger and using my hand again. The drug costs over $3000.00 and that's for one injection. My insurance will be at it limits after only 3 fingers are injected at $3000.00 each. This is my last hope. There are always risks with any bio drug. I know that it may not work but I have faith that it will and I will have use of my right hand again.
So Fred don't give up there are always other bios available that will help you thru the many bio developed for P. & used today. Research for P. is still ongoing with many Pharmacuiducal research companies around the world working on more ways to interrupt the autoimmune system causing many diseases.

Anyone surviving sepsis gets the hero award from me. That is very tough and I am so SORRY that it set off UR P. I hope u get it under control and into remission soon. Many derms who specialize in P. Have much more to offer to help P. than ever before. Mostly light therapy and steroids,moisturizers, and occlusion were the only way . I hope your skin becomes clear & in remission soon. Have you tried laser or excimer laser it works right away killing the small capillary vessels that flow to feed the P. Cells deep in the derm layers?
