As much as I dont like it, Mtx is a proven and useful drug. It would be unfortunate were it not available. I would also like the therapy to be as specific as possible, but it may be the case that there is more than one target, so combination therapies might have more to offer. DMF has been very effective for me, but as it has been my only systemic treatment I can make no comparison with other therapies. On a cost and safety basis DMF is unsurpassed, but lymphocyte suppression can be a problem and the gi side effects wont make it a crowd pleaser either. I am currently trying folic acid together with zinc and B group vitamins to try and up my lymphocyte count. Perhaps the most important thing with psoriasis is to maintain your sense of adventure!
