Hello my name is Vanda and I don't use forums Facebook or Twiiter but after finding this website a year ago I wanted to come and let you know that this is the best psoriasis website I have found. Yesterday I contacted psoriasis club as I wanted to post my feedback and a nice man named Fred replied almost immediately explaining that only members could give feedback on the website. He gave me two options, I could reply to his email or follow the link and register to post my feedback. I thought how refreshingly honest of psoriasis club it was to let people post feedback without asking what it was about.

I have had psoriasis for 8 years and I had got to the stage of giving up on life as it had taken me over. My doctor tried with all sorts of creams but although it did help for a while, it would suddenly come back again mostly on my legs and my husband always said I had the most beautiful legs. He still tries to tell me that and he is so good to me putting up with my moods when I just don't have any confidence left any more to show my legs to anyone.

After researching the internet I found some websites and was amazed at the information available sometimes it was just to much to take in and I would just break down and sob, some of those websites looked to be wanting to sell me something and some looked like they are run by the makers of my creams. I kept on looking and with my husbands help narrowed my search down to three websites to read, there was lot's of useful information but not being the sort of person to use a website I just kept on reading.

Please forgive me I will finish now as I have taken up so much of your time, I just wanted to come and say thank you very very much psoriasis club for all of the information and hope that you have given me. I now no longer look at the other two websites any more as this one has the best information and encouraged me to get an appointment with a dermatologist which I have done and things are now going well for me again

Thank you psoriasis club for being here and not showing me product placement or asking me to donate, though if you would accept a donation from me I would like to know how I could do this.

With my deepest thanks Vanda.

Hi Vanda and a very big Welcome to the club.
Yes Fred is great it's his site, and he bends over backwards to help members I have to agree with you when you say this is by far the best site for support and information, I have been here under a year and find it friendly, supportive and easily accessible, I do look at other sites and then come back here.
I have offered support to the club and would gladly like you donate to keep it going, but Fred won't hear of it.
I hope you get some relief soon from the psoriasis you have done the right thing getting an appointment to see a dermatologist.
You are in a good place here as you say it serves two purposes for me it keeps me up to date with the latest psoriasis research, and the off topic helps keep my spirits up.
Good luck hope to hear more from you
Jim

Hello Vanda,

Well your post is really a surprise out of nothing. Smile
Really great that you like the information we have gathered on Psoriasisclub, information that comes from all over the world and is free to take.
I hope you can find something that will help you with your psoriasis, maybe even so that your husband may be astonished about your legs Wink

Keep on going.
We over here on Psoriasisclub think that a lot more people can be almost psoriasis free given the chance and one of the vast possibilities.
Indeed this all is thanks to Fred, who is changing the world by means of this site.

Cheers and come back if you like to !
Caroline.

Hello Vanda Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

I will be the "Nice Man" that spoke to you via email Blush

We don't need to know what your feedback is about before giving it, there is nothing to hide on Psoriasis Club if you have good feedback we are happy, if however you have bad feedback we would like the chance to work it out with you, hence the reason only members can post feedback. That way any member can answer you and give their opinion, I will also obviously reply and listen.

It's good to hear you have found information on Psoriasis Club that has helped you make decisions and it sounds like you have great support from your husband, that will help a lot and going to a dermatologist is also a good choice as there are lots treatments that can help you cope.

We don't have all the answers here and there are many other websites out there, but you are correct there is no advertising or requests for donations and all you will find is a small friendly bunch of people willing to share information and support. Regarding your request to offer a donation to Psoriasis Club I thank you for the offer, but like Jim said in his post "I won't hear of it" We are not here for any reason other than to help others with psoriasis. I have had psoriasis for many years and can afford to keep it here without outside help, so I will.

Vanda, I know you said you are not a user of forums, but as you have gone to the trouble to contact us and followed up by joining us and posting your feedback which must seem a little difficult to you having not used forums before. You are now a member and there are many facilities open to you that guest don't get. So please don't hesitate to join in if you wish, some do, some don't it's your choice but you will find you are not alone and someone will help you settle in.

Regards.

Fred.

Until I joined this forum I had never posted anything online and the only forum I had ever been on was when we had a broadband outage and I went to a forum to see if I was alone with the problem and just read what was happening.....
I'm a bit braver now and thought time I took a look at other sites so
The last couple of weeks I have looked at several other forums but I won't name them, many of them are difficult to navigate, but I found one that seemed quite easy and open,
I followed a couple of threads that were posted and posted a couple of replies it was very active, but there were some very arrogant opinionated posters on that made me very uncomfortable.
When people started new threads they either rubbished the question or belittled the poster,
One lady it was her first visit after about an hour of being told what to do posted that she had come for help and now felt worse and was leaving......
I thought get me back to psoriasis club where the atmosphere is friendly and I've never seen any cruel postings.
So thanks again Fred for keeping the members here safe from cyber bullying and for policing the site so well.
I know this site is small compared to some but the information on here is better and easier to access than I have found elsewhere a big Thumb thumbs up

You're welcome Jim, and thanks for the feedback. I know your words will ring true for a few of our members who have had a similar experience on some other sites, myself included. Yes we are small in numbers but the numbers you see on some websites don't really say much. Numbers are easy to change and here at Psoriasis Club I remove accounts that are no longer active, besides I would rather have a small bunch of friendly people around me than a large bunch of people trying to peddle their goods, advertise, promote, recruit, or even be down right nasty to others.

As for policing, I prefer to call it "Showing the unwanted the door with a boot up the bum" whack

Fred I'm not complaining that the club is small as I think small is beautiful .
On here you can rant, moan, ask for help or just relax and read posts.
In my time here I don't think I have ever seen anybody post insensitively. We all realise that we may not always agree on everything but we can be civilised and respect each other's views.
As I say in less than a week on one forum I saw at least three members rightfully complain about some of the posting on their threads. I have seen threads pulled, I saw one pulled that was just trying to get all the posters to calm down, it was to gladiatorial for me with too many big ego's

Yes small and honest is good long may it last

Thank you all for the welcomes I do keep coming back and have this site in my bookmarks but I don't logon, today I have finally got around to joining the newsletter group. Every month I see that a new one has gone out, and I keep thinking I must get one. I looks like I have it right as there is a little newspaper beside my name.

I look forward to reading it, and thank you all once again.
