Hey guys Smile

I Hope everyone is having a great Christmas. Just thought I would give you guys an update.
I went to my dermatologist and spoke to him about it and I've decided to stay on fumaderm. I'm currently on 1 tablet a day and I only have a few patches on my scalp which I just use dovobet cream on. If anyone ever has any questions about fumaderm and my experience on the drug please do not be afraid to get in contact with me Smile Thanks for everyone's help and input, greatly appreciated.

Hello Ruth,

Good to hear from you and that you are doing fine on the one tablet of fumaderm. Great to have it working at such a low dose.

Besides from the tiredness, which I don't expect to be from the fumaderm, do you have any side effects that you think are from fumaderm ?

Are your blood values ok for instance ?
Flushes?

Other things?

Cheers,
Caroline

Hi Caroline Smile

My bloods seem to be fine, but my white blood cells can be low sometimes. Therefore my immune system isn't great. I take my tablets every night around 10pm so therefore I usually get flushing at 6/7am which I wake up to but go straight back to sleep. The fumaderm can upset my tummy sometimes but other than that I don't get any other side effects.

Hi Ruth,

Thanks for your comments, very valuable as Jim says.

Yes your white blood cells can be a little lower. Though this is not an indication that your immune system is weaker. At least this is not so when you use DMF like fumaderm.
It would be true if you would use other medications.

What you write is recognizable by me at least.

Hi Ruth and let me add my thanks for the update. I'm not on Fumaderm but I do like hearing updates on people no matter what medicines or methods they use. Plus the important thing is that it seems to be working for you!

Hey guys Smile

Just thought I would give you all an update.

All I can say is thank god I didn't come off the Fumaderm. Heart Heart

About 2 weeks ago my psoriasis came back. I was taking one tablet but I was extremely stressed at the time and I guess that's what has brought the flare up. It's on my legs, stomach, arms and scalp. I have tried on numerous occasions to get in contact with my dermatologist but he hasn't gotten back to me.

I don't really now what to do but I really want it to go so the first week I was taking between 2/3 tablets , now I'm taking 4 tablets. The psoriasis hasn't improved and just seem to be getting worse Sad
I guess il just keep with the 4 tablets until I see an improvement. I can handle the side effects on the 4 so it's not too bad.

Has anyone else ever experienced this problem.?

Thanks,

Ruth x

Hi well I had a similar situation myself earlier this year when I dropped my dose and the psoriasis came back but not badly. I increased my dose from 2 to 3 tablets and it has almost cleared again
In your case as long as your bloods are good and looked at regularly I would say stick with it ... But it will take a while ... I doubt it has stopped working its hopefully just a temporary blip
But do contact your dermatologist and tell them what you have done as soon as possible they may even step the dose up but I wouldn't advise that without professional advice
Good luck and thanks for posting as you wrote it may help others in similar situations Thumb

No Ruth,
I've never experienced something alike that.
But I can feel the difference with myself between 6 or 5 tablets, I prefer the last, but I know I really need six. On five after a while the PsA comes slowly back, if I let go too long, it also takes a long time on six to be back at the same level.

I am standing behind the comment Jim gave you already.
I don't know of people where the drug stopped working, that doesn't mean there aren't any, but it does mean it is rare.

Thanks for the help you guys Big Grin

I hope the fumaderm kicks in soon, it's the waiting around to see if it's going to work that frustrates me if anything. I was taking 4 tablets each night since the flare up but last night I took 6. I wish my dermatologist would get back to me because I don't know how many tablets I should be taking.
