Oh Glenda I so glad I don't live in America. It seems that if you are ill you are constantly kept poor by the system it's either that or suffer the disease $ 4900 that's $400 a month + $235 insurance. That's a lot to have to pay when you have a chronic illness....
I just hope it works for you   and you can afford the payments

Jim crazy about the costs of insurance,I was paying $700 a month plus the $4900 until our President started what is called affordable health-care.I do get some help from the government.Once i get the $4900 out of the way i am covered 100%.But it sure takes alot of my Soc.Sec. Disability check.I am just grateful I get my $906 a month.As i said thank goodness for my husband's good income cause I don't have alot left after I pay for my coverage.When I get 65 in 2016 Feb. I'll get what is called Medicare for $110 a month which they will take out of my $906 and I'll be covered at 80% then i'll need an extra policy to pay the 20% they don't cover.Most people don't want to get older,I can't wait so I get the benefits.Ha My husband has 100% coverage from our VA system.He did serve our country and they pay for meds hosp  and anything he needs.We are grateful for the Veterans Administration. Take care my friend

It seems the Enbrel is helping my PSA my joints don't seem to hurt as bad.But the psoriasis is still with me.Last night i got up and took a Benadryl for my itching.I guess it will take time to see if my skin clears.I need to go to the tanning bed.I only stay in the bed for 7 minutes,as I am not wanting a tan.I just want this plaque to dry up.My back and scalp is the worst.My back feels like alligator skin.They say they call the PSA and Psoriasis double whammy.I really feel bad for young people who get this disease.I get another shot on Sat.I am getting quite good at giving myself a shot.Was a little nervous at first not anymore.I'll keep everyone informed of my improvements.Just hope the skin clears soon.

Good news Glenda your joints are feeling better with the enbrell as you say let's hope the skin will respond positively soon let's hope he next shot will be the one that starts shifting those scales xx

I am going to give myself my injection here shortly.I take it out to warm up a bit when injected cold it stings.Just keeping my fingers crossed to see skin results.I had a bad night and poor Pebbles did also.I gave her a shot of liquid benadryl and i took a tablet.Poor Pebbles has allergies i just got her a shot last week.She is allergic to grass of all things.How can you keep a dog out out of it.She goes out to go to the potty,seems like we have the same symptoms with the itch.Jim i am still trying to learn how to post,i'll get it eventually.

Hope the injection goes well hopefully it will begin to work on your skin very soon don't get downhearted it's working but a bit slow on the skin......
Poor pebbles allergic to grass ... Not good when her nose is that close to the ground ....she is in sympathy with you and doesn't like to be left out...

[Yes,it's not good to wish ones life to go a little quicker but only for the Health Care savings.I really don't want to get old.Ha But I am lucky compared to some who have things alot worse.My age will get here one way or not.All up to the good Lords plan for me.My Dad is 86 yrs old and he is in good health.He does drive me crazy ,he lost another checkbook.So we put a stop on the 4 checks that he lost,so they can't be cashed.This is about the 4th time.I am the power of attorney over his money and health.But i hate to take anything away from him.You know now i am the parent and he is the kid.I tried to get the Dr to take his drivers license away but he passed the test .I told the Dr he doesn't drive too good i got a few phone calls about him running people off the road.So at least i have a clear conscience if he happens to wreck into someone.My niece helped me delete some of my posts.It's a little chilly here in Pa. USA.Heard it's going to warm up.I hope you and Eileen have a good day.My husband and i have been married for 44yrs and together 5 yrs prior.As i have said before we raised each other.

Oops it's a worry when parents get old and a burden it's difficult when the roles are reversed and you are looking after them. It should never come to that .... You don't want your memories to be of thinking for them. It would be nice to remember them when they were younger and you leant on them

Wanted to get back to all of you my insurance wouldn't cover the Simponi Aura so I was put on Enbrel 50 mg self inject every Sat.It has really helped my PSA but not much with my Psoriasis thus far.I will give it time.I heard it could take up to 6 months for the psoriasis to improve.I will give it a chance to work.Some help is better than no help.I am grateful I can move around much better.I also have Fibro.so that has it's effects on me.Especially at night time.My Dr. gave me Flexeril 5mg to help my muscles relax so i can get some sleep. well wishing everyone good health and less pain.

Should see some improvement by 6 months... glad you are feeling better! I use to take stuff to help sleep, but makes acid much worse. ..

Enbrel did take longer to get going on psoriasis I found, but it was one of the best for psoriatic arthritis for me.

So yes give it six months before deciding it not working.

*By the way Enbrel is usually taken twice a week, so it may be worth asking about upping it.

Dear Mataribot,thanks for letting me know not to give up yet!I will give it time after all Rome wasn't built in a day.Ha Sometimes a little humor helps what else do we have.I saw on a post that Fred was on says maybe i should be taking 2 shots a week.I will inquire about.I just called the Enbbel Support number and they are going to issue me a card with $6000 to help with my co-pays and deductibles.That's good cause one month 4 shots of the injector pen is $3000 a month.So if i needed to take 2 shots a week that would be $6000 a month.This disease is horrible and the price of it is out of sight.Someone told me Enbrel is made from protein from the ovaries of a Chinese hamster.No matter what we buy seems to be made in China.Can't we use made in America?

Mataribot is right just give it time it's working on your PSA you say your joints are improved so it's kicking in .. I hope it will start to calm the scaling down soon .... It's certainly scary when you have all this out of pocket expense for the Embrel it makes me shudder to think of it..
Here we can prepay a years prescriptions for£104 that then covers a whole years medications
