If you have a Yahoo email account, you may experience some problems receiving Emails from Psoriasis Club.

Some emails have been held up and all I'm getting is "Emails are temporarily deferred due to user complaints" and it tells me to check this
[web]https://help.yahoo.com/kb/postmaster/SLN3434.html?impressions=true [/web]

Basically, this means our mail server has been hitting Yahoo! a bit too hard with stuff that Yahoo! users don’t like. Even though we are not sending spam, if our newsletter, notification email, or anything else hits a nerve with a small number of Yahoo! users, we may start seeing this failure notification.

It looks like they do go eventually, but because of the next bit of information I've been given I wouldn't be surprised if they get blocked at some point.

#1 Avoid talking about pharmacology in your emails.
#2 Don't include links in your emails.

*1 Most emails from here would have a mention of pharmacology, the email comes from Psoriasis Club"

*2 All emails include links back to psoriasisclub.org

So we are talking about pharma and sending out links, which is not good according to Yahoo. 85

I'm sorry but there is nothing I can do from this end, as you all know I hate spam and work actively in the background fighting it and keeping it at bay, but for Yahoo to hold back our mail just because it mentions pharmaceutical products, has links back to the forum, and all our email has the word Psoriasis in I think is not a good move on their part.

By all means stick with Yahoo if you want, but if you stop receiving emails from Psoriasis Club. I would suggest you use Gmail instead, or take it up with Yahoo as there is nothing I can do.

Please comment here if you are having any problems receiving emails from Psoriasis Club and I will see what can be done.

Fred.

Yes as you know Fred I have had mine held up and they have on busy nights not come in until the next day....
Who are the users who complain I certainly don't ..... I doubt that's the reason ..... It only happens when the board is really busy......I have stopped relying on mail notifications and now go to the portal page and see who's posting as on the right hand side are the last 10 threads posted on.

I have changed my email also and will see if this is faster.....
I have noticed today some junk emails (bulk mail) is arriving 2-3 hours after the time shown so it's not just psoriasis club emails delayed in my case, although I thought it was.... But to be honest I never used to check the time sent on promotional or junk mails, but gave just started taking more notice

Hello jim, sorry I should have been a bit clearer, when I mentioned "Users complaining" It's not users from Psoriasis Club, it's users of Yahoo Email. Let's say you have a Yahoo Email account and you get an email that mentions "Jelly" you get fed up with seeing "Jelly" so you (now I'm not sure how this part works as I don't use Yahoo) but the way I understand it, you don't like getting emails mentioning "Jelly" and you hit a button. Another Yahoo member hits the same button as they too don't like "Jelly" that will then slow down emails that mention "Jelly"

Now if enough people don't like "Jelly" and hit the button eventually no one with a Yahoo account will get an email that mentions "Jelly" Now this is fine to help combat spam, but if enough people for example hit the button for "Cure" that by what I understand would stop emails from Psoriasis Club that mention "Cure"

So if someone post's or replies to Psoriasis Cure or my "cure" for example, then Yahoo will hold back and could possibly block our emails to you.

The theory behind it is great, but in my opinion it's not been thought through properly, and could be open to abuse. If you get enough Yahoo users complain about a word, phrase, website, etc it could get blocked.

I may be reading it wrong, and welcome anyone with Yahoo to put me right. But I've been unable to find a solution from my end to help people get the emails they want from Psoriasis Club.

Ok Fred I think I understand ..... Let me get this straight
Someone for instance me has a yahoo email account and I keep getting emails from psoriasis club......
Now suppose I don't like this....... No hang on I have to subscribe to get them right.......
I can disable them in the user control panel .......... Stay with me
There's a link at the bottom of the emails to link you back so you can disable them....
Quite an easy process to stop getting them

So how does anyone complain to yahoo about a particular site or even content.
I can't see on any emails I get a place to refer to yahoo let alone to complain

Am I being thick or just not seeing the picture
Are you saying it's a member reporting getting too much traffic..... Or do they monitor the traffic to certain high useage people i.e. Me and restrict my mail coming in?

No you're being thick whack

It's nothing to do with Psoriasis Club, and I'm not sure how it works as I don't use Yahoo. But let's try this.

Forget Psoriasis Club for the moment, you get fed up getting spam in your Yahoo email account telling you there is a cure for your baldness problem. You then report it, mark it as spam, or whatever it is you do in Yahoo.

I as a Yahoo member get fed up with emails telling me how to cure my obsession with Barbie. So I report it.

Bill as a Yahoo member gets fed up with emails telling him there is a cure for walking around the Australian desert naked, he reports it.

Sue gets one telling her how to cure conker wilt, she reports that.

Barnaby (a person you have never heard of, because that is the point it's not people from Psoriasis Club) he reports an email telling him there is a cure for a fear of jumping from a cliff. He reports it or whatever you do in Yahoo.

With me so far? Pay attention at the back. Spank

Has anyone seen a pattern yet?

Correct, all these people from wherever they are from have all reported an email, and the one thing they have in common is the word "Cure"

Now when any website sends out mail with the word Cure to it's members that use Yahoo it will get held back, and could eventually get blocked.

So sally who wanted to get mail from the website she is a member of telling her when someone has answered a post in regard to "How do I cure my husbands hiccups" She won't get it because the rest of you didn't like the word cure.

* As this is a public board I should explain to our readers I'm only joking about Jim being thick he's not, really he is actually very intelligent usually unless he has been on the CherryB
