I'm new here. While I'm fortunate enough to not suffer from psoriasis myself, my husband was recently diagnosed with PPPP and has been put on Stelara. We do lots of research on the disease, and read a lot of crap also. I spent some time over at the TalkPsoriasis/National Psoriasis Foundation forum, but got frustrated with all the spam, junk science, and mysticism, not to mention the people SHOUTING in ALL CAPS about diet being the ONLY WAY. I've been lurking here for a few days and it seems like a better place to be. So hi everyone!

Hello TheLittleWife (that sounds so funny me saying that to a complete stranger) but  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

You don't have to have psoriasis yourself as friends and family of people with psoriasis are also welcome, I've seen you lurking and appreciate you taking the time to say hello and the kind words.

We're a small friendly bunch and you will find no ads, sponsors, requests for donations, trolls, spammers, bullies, etc on here. Just dive on in and have a good look around.

Regards.

Fred.

Hi and  Welcome  little wife ....( I have one of those as well) yes you are at a good place here there's no shouting
I'm sorry that your husband is suffering with pppp I'm sure the Stelara will be good for him although what works for some won't work for others. It really is trial and error .....only these days there is less error.
No one here will push anything at you we will advise what works for us and at bad times we can offer a sympathetic ear ...we are not a substitute for proper medical advice, but we can make sure when you do go back to see a specialist you will be better informed.
Enjoy yourself here you are among friends that understand
If you feel brave we have an active off topic section where you will be made welcome if you wish to come and chat or browse
Jim

Thanks Fred. I've seen you smack down a spammy post or two, which I appreciate after all the nonsense at NPF forum. I reported a post at NPF advising everyone to stop taking all prescription medications because they are filling your bodies with toxins, and the admins there let it stay up. I believe in science over the natural approach (which I don't discount entirely, but anecdotes and testimonials are not evidence, but then again hey - if it works for you that's great), and there's ten times more posts about drugs, science, and actual peer-reviewed articles than anywhere I've found. I think I'll hang out for awhile.

Hello little Wife of your husband Big Grin,

Welcome to our forum.
Over here you will only find experiences and knowledge gathered in practice by many of our members. Personally I think all these experiences are very valuable.

The very power of this forum is that we all respect each other and the treatment that everyone uses.
We do have our opinions on certain treatments, the toxic ones, and do speak about that and about advantages and disadvantages over everything we discuss about.

Hopefully you have a good time over here.
As far as I know you husband is now on a good medication.

Cheers,
Caroline

Hello
Little wife..
I too have been on some outrageous forums over the years. Accusations flying everywhere. Cliques like high school and gossip. I found staying with the web support sights and medical sites have helped me the most. This is my fav site. Always has very helpful advice. Many join support forums for help and as u mentioned, some cause more stress, anxiety and ads to he issues of P. Not to mention the are supported by Big Pharm and advertise bio drugs. Almost pushing them with a lot of pressure on members by others.

I am sorry to hear UR hubby has been diagnosed with psoriasis. He on a good bio drug I hope it helps him and he can find remission soon. I hope he has a psoriasis expert derm.

There is NO fighting about foods, diets, drugs, or p. Techniques here. We share what we have experienced and hope to hear from others who have found ways for solving this autoimmune disease thru remission.

Keep us posted on UR hubby's P. Take care.

I've been poking around the site looking for terms of use, or etiquette or the like, but can't find the answer to my question so I'll just ask - can I curse? Bad words? Cussing?

I really like to, but don't want to offend or get off on the wrong foot here.

We prefer people to moderate themselves, though I would probably edit some swear words on the public boards.

The Members Only boards are a different matter and often some members have a good old rant, we also have the Adult Only joke thread where you will find extreme language.

It depends on what you want to put really, but all I would ask members to do is only put on the public boards what you would be happy of children reading and in the members board if your language is going to be extreme then it may be best to explain that at the the start of you thread.

Hope that helps, if not send me a PM with more of an idea and I can clarify.

EDIT: I forgot to to mention that I won't allow any bad language against another member. NoNo

Well little wife straight to the point Fred has not got many rules but as he says moderate your language on the public threads as it may offend some members and we want to stay harmonious, although Several have cursed in desperate posts and swearing emphasises your feeling . I think that's ok. Swearing in public posts for the sake of it should not be necessary
In the off topic though it's a bit more liberated in there just make it clear if it's going to be to blue . As in the jokes thread
I like a good curse myself but I restrict it to where I know if someone reads it they have been warned...., so as Fred says just use common sense

The little wife..has a big question....

Really! Is that a real question? YIKES. I would say let ER rip... However....The purpose of cursing is not appropriate on any site. I have been on many & it's never considered good cyber manners. Most sites consider naming a drug or a competitive web site just as bad to be barred as cursing! Just using characters to represent cursing is a common practice. We get it. I don't like reading curse words do you? And why would you want too?

I find it disrespectful to others & not always a good way to receive helpful responses. Most likely u would receive negative feedback.

There's all types of ways to let off steam. Go for a good rant without curse words. More would read and sympathize with UR issue.

No Tony Soprano's PLZ !
