Hi all my name is Misty. I am 39 and been dealing with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. I have had psoriasis since I was 17 and dx 'ed with PsA for about 3 yrs. But, have had symptoms for many years.
I am a mother of two girls and expecting my first grandchild in June 2015. I have been married for 13 years.
So, that's a little about me to begin with.

Hi misty ( what a great name) Welcome to the club you will notice we are fairly informal here but we all have psoriasis and some with psoriatic arthritis you will find us a very friendly group of sufferers happy to share whatever we can about our own journey through the disease and what works and what doesn't for us.
I see you are on remicade and methotrexate it would be interesting to know how long you have been on that combination and how it's working for you .
Congratulations on the coming grandchild ( they are great fun and a joy to look after)
Feel free to rummage around in the health boards and when you feel like it join us in the off topic section where you will find a bit of humour and chat
I'm sure there will be others here to greet you but a lot of our members are from England or Europe and it's gone midnight here .
Look forward to talking more with you
Jim

Hi Misty,

Glad u joined us.
I too have psoriasis since a child and PsA . I control plaque and inverse with occlusion since a child. There is a system to it.

There r many new products both OTC & RX meds . There has been so much more research than ever. Science has found the pathways of this immune disease IL-17 & IL 23 . Most new bio drugs suppress these pathways . As P. Is controlled and remission. Interleukin 17 could be promising for the future for controlling P.
Research shows how well these clinical trials went to help moderate to severe PSA and P.

I'm in the US. And I always have something to offer for the itch for psoriasis and also ways to put it in remission. I have palmoplanter psoriasis too & on the bottoms of my feet.. Have been in remission for 4 years.

I don't find this disease to slow me down much. My hands may be frozen and waiting for a new bio drug to try in a couple of weeks.

Anytime u need support this is an amazing place to come.

When life gives u a set back, don't step back, because God is preparing u for a come back!

I never suffer from this disease I refuse too! I stay busy and find ways to keep my mind off it.

Light therapy and laser therapy has improved immensely for treating P. The laser kills the capillary vessels feeding the P. Instantly. It just takes time for derms to obtain these new therapies.

What have u tried ? And what has made it easier for u to clear P.? Winter is so drying and water ... so moisturizing is a constant help. My moisturizers are not greasy more of a skin protectant. What are some of UR favorite moisturizers???

Hope to get to know u more and u will like this site and keep in touch!

Hugs

Hello Misty Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

As you can see we have a friendly bunch of people here, so just dive on in. We may not have all the answers but we can offer support, and between us all we have a good knowledge of psoriasis, it's treatment, and how it affects people.

Regards.

Fred.
