Jim, the dose cannot be increased fast, you know that right ? The influence on the lympho's is too big then, your body has to get used to the levels of DMF.
That is the big problem with Tecfidera, they are increasing the dose too fast.

As for stopping the Fumaderm, I would stop it now. It's very unlikely if you have been offered Stelara to find there is a problem with the TB result, so stop it now and yes the psoriasis may get a bit worse but Fumaderm is not for you so give it up now and watch the results of Stelara work it's magic.

I always think the best way to judge how good a treatment is, is to have as much psoriasis as you can.

Indeed Angie, as psoriasis is coming back anyway, and you only seem to have side effects, you might better stop fumaderm now.
With the advantage that lympho's will quickly go back to normal, which is usual when stopping with DMF as found in studies.

Caroline Debbie has been on fumaderm for 10 weeks and is still on a low dose. I was just concerned that the reason it wasn't working was that the build up had been rather slow, and she thought she was on maximum dose
Here's what was written earlier

Hi Debbie yes it is a strange drug and it affects us all differently, I have been lucky and got through all the side effects and got to a clear  skin
Can I ask this is week 10 or 11 for you if my memory is any good . So are you taking6 tablets a day?

If so you should start to get consistent results soon with clearing ,
Which side effects are bad for you is it cramps or diarrhoea . Ignore people with ignorant remarks.... It could be them next
Are you seeing much change in your skin?

Hi now on week 10, just taking 3 tablets thought this was full dose? It,s diarrhoea and that funny head flush which sometimes come with a skin reaction - its like heat rash from my waist upwards, my skin burns and itches for about 2 hours.
My hands are much better, but my feet seem to change on a daily basis from really quite manageble to some very painful cracks a day later. i am using Healan tape as well which does seem to help, but is only temporary

Hi Fred

It's 7 weeks until my next appointment. I think the TB results are imminent . I'm hopeful I get a call from derm's secretary before my appointment date.

I only had 1 Fumaderm today and will most likely stop now.

Onwards and upwards.

Debbie - good luck with your derm appointment , I hope they help.

I increased my dose every week by one tablet so was at the 6 a day quickly, but I did only last a week and a half at that dose . I wonder if there would have been a different outcome if I had went up the dose slower.

Though not convinced as having side effects on two a day just now, but nothing like previously.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Hi strangers  Wave

Just a wee update, I've been in hiding as p appearing fast and furious !

Back to long itchy nights and tired days. 5 weeks and waiting for funding to come through for Stelara.
Phoned derm secretary today and nothing yet .  Wall

Back on the steroid ointment, lots of ysp and drambuie.

Raining most of time up here, so not standing out like a sore thumb in my winter gear. Every cloud eh!!

Hope you are all well and hopefully soon I will hear about meds and be back on with an update.

Oi Angie don't you go hiding away, we are here if you ever want to lean on a shoulder or just have a grumble. We may not have all the answers, but you know we understand so don't go being alone. It helps to offload a bit, and we all go through it.

Hope you get Stelara soon, I'm not keen on Drambuie but I'll drink to ya.  15
