I have contacted my gp to be referred back to dermatologist but it's at least a 16 week waiting list to see them. I have to go to my gp tomorrow morning as he can't refer me without seeing me even though he knows what it's like. Going to get some coconut oil and try that. So here's hoping it makes a difference.

Thanks again. Xx

Sorry I didn't notice you had already seen a dermatologist. When you do get back to see one, tell them it is effecting your quality of life and you want a DLQI. Have a look at this thread and answer the questions to see what your DLQI is: Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI)

*I have had permission to show it on Psoriasis Club if your dermatologist asks.

Welcome!

Sorry to hear you are having a tough time of it. The good thing about Coconut oil is that you can put on as much as you want and as often. It's soothing by helping to moisturize which helps with the dryness and some of the itchiness. But don't expect a miracle with it or you may be disappointed. It sounds like you need more than just something to help moisturize and I hope you can get back in to see a dermatologist soon and get treatment.

Hoping you have managed to get a referral from your Doctor goodstuff?
I'm surprised at your doctor saying tablets are a last resort as there are many other options open to them

Hi everyone no holiday for me too much studying to do lol. Went to gp he can't refer me back to dermatologist for at least a month and the waiting list is minimum 16 weeks. He prescribed me dovinex and exorex there no working very well. Am actually going to try and get the names of  some of the treatments you have all mentioned and go back. It's been dry but cold here so that's no helping got a few hacks. Hope u are all well xx

What a shame we seem able to help the world ....and when we are asking for help its 4 weeks for a referral and then a sixteen week wait Doh

Let us know what treatments you are thinking of
There's methotrexate,
Acetretin
cyclosporine
Fumaderm
They are  the most likely ones you may be offered you can read about them all in the health board here Psoriasis And Psoriatic Arthritis Topics
