Hi everyone, I thought I'd give you an update on my progress on 4 fumaderm initial tablets a day.

Since dropping to 4 a day my skin is still clear and I'm more than happy with my progress.

I saw my derm on Thursday for a check up and all my bloods were fine, even my lymphocyte level had gone up from 1.1 to 1.2. However when I did a urine test they found trace amounts of protein in there.

So now I have to take a repeat test next week so see how it is. They've never been out before so I'm hoping it's just a blip.

Other than that I'm still very happy with my skin!

Good to hear that Fumaderm is still your friend and your skin is clear. Long may it continue.
Did they offer any thoughts as to why you had protein in your urine? Are they looking to blame the Fumaderm or could there be another cause?

That’s great news and on such a low dose  :clp: I hope you are able to stay on it long term and it keeps your skin clear .... with your lymphocytes at 1.2 ( normal is between 1&3) It’s looking good
I hope the protein in the urine is just a blip

My lymphocytes were 1.12 this month which I’m happy with on 5 full strength tablets a day.

Thanks for the update .... it’s good to hear a success story  :tumb:

Protein in the urine is not uncommon with DMF, is rarely a problem and usually resolves. I had protein traces in urine tests, but they resolved. The way I dose may be advantageous in this respect also.

Jim, the way your lymphocytes vary is interesting. Have you thought of keeping a diary of your diet?

I’ll add something in my journal Bill rather than hijack this thread

Update number two.

I had to take an extra sample to the hospital this week and although their was no protein in my urine and no infection there was a trace of blood.

Apparently the amount was so small that it bordered on insignificant. However to be safe I've been told to stop taking the fumaderm and need to go back to my GP in order to arrange further tests.

This certainly won't help my health anxiety!

I would doubt if it has anything to do with Fumaderm, but it’s certainly worth having the cause investigated it’s likely to be a UTI Urinary tract infection
I hope they clear it up quickly for you so you can get on with the treatment and keep your Psoriasis under control

Yes it could be just a urinary tract infection. I had one not long ago and although a bit worrying a visit to my GP and some tablets it was gone in a couple of days.

I'm with Jim I doubt it's the Fumaderm, but do keep us updated.

I think you worry unduly, OBI. Urine test strips are readily available and might give you some peace of mind. It looks like your positive results are the minimum detectable. Results like that might make you observe, but they should not alarm you.
