Just curious if anyone has ever heard of this.

I keep seeing an ad for it. It states that it's FDA-approved Psoriasis Laser Treatment. It also says that in clinical trials, most people saw at least 75% improvement and even 95% clearance in just 4 weeks.

It says the psoriasis can come back (well DUH!) but that you can have treatments again.

Upon further reading, it's basically UV treatment but directed right on spots where there is psoriasis. I guess it's been around for awhile but I've never seen it discussed so was just wondering.

Is it the "excimer" if you put it in search there are few mentions.

But apart from that I'm not sure, though my personal opinion would be that it will come back.

Not totally sure Fred. The name I saw wasn't excimer, however I did look around and there is an "excimer laser" so perhaps it is the same or similar.

So I've done light therapy, wonder what is different when using it as laser treatment. I could see where it's more controlled and direct, but then would one have to worry about damage caused by the laser over time?

We do have a few mentions of it by some members, but no one has ever come back to give updates, and I can't find any worthy studies.

Read into that what you will.

I actually thought it was something new Confused But seems like it's been around for awhile and since there aren't people around singing it's praises, yeah I think we have an answer as to how well it probably works.

My guess it that it works about the same as light therapy. Works for some and not for others and is only a very short term answer for most.

That is my thinking too. Also I think it's only a USA thing and privately paid for, I don't think it's available as a prescription in Europe. That doesn't mean it doesn't work, but it says to me that the EU doesn't think it's worth the cost.
