Hi There all !

I'm Marco from Italy , 46 years old.
I'm fighting with psoriasis since 1984....
I have taken Neotigason for many years ( last ten years ) and this year after a blood check i have stopped it definitively.
Triglycerides and high ferritin inside liver. Hepatic Steatosis reversible.
I knew the side effects of Acitretin....
This week on wednesday i have started Skilarence and i will tell you my experience. First 3 days no side effects.
Two weeks ago i have started a diet to lower triglycerides and help liver. No alcohol.
My psoriasis is only on the legs and elbows , for luck nowhere else.
Let's hope.....

Thanks to all the persons of this great forum Smile Wave

Hi Marco,

Welcome to psoriasisclub.
Nice account name for an italian, sunnyman. Italy the always sunny country.

Great that you are starting with Skilarence. Thumb
Slightly weird that you don’t have any side effects. Most people do get the warmth flushes, don’t you get them either ?

We will follow your progress.

Cheers,
Caroline.

Hi Marco and welcome  Welcome to the club, it seems as if we have started skilarence at the same time, although I was on Fumaderm ( same active ingredient) for 7 years so I'm hopeful that transferring to Skilarence will be easy

I wish you as much success as I have had with DMF (skilarence) and you can achieve long term clearance
If you do experience any side effects do let us know and we can advise ways to minimise any discomfort .

There is a lot if knowledge here on the forum and all are personal experiences of members. So if you have any questions just shout there's usually someone who can answer or guide you in the right direction

Welcome Marco,

Good luck with your Skilarence. Make sure you are well hydrated and don't take it with an empty stomach. I take it as a raw chemical and started on a higher dose (3*240mg daily), which is undoubtedly a little tougher. The first three months were the hardest, after which the side effects (upset stomach and headaches) abated. It is an unusual drug as it can become more effective the longer you are on it, giving the same effect with a smaller dosage. I hope it works for you.

Cheers

Thanks for all your kind answers !
My dermatologist said to follow the recommended dosage.
For first week 1 x 30 mg after dinner.
I drink a lot of water.
I don't wait fast results , i hope to see an improvement after 3-4 weeks.
Do you think that using Enstilar could help to improve the "cleaning" faster than normal ?
About food... I eat everything.

Thanks again Thumb

Enstilar is very good at getting the plaques down quickly, so yes it would help with faster clearance. But you won't know how well the Skilarence is doing, so if you can wait I would leave the Enstilar out for the moment.

Yes follow the build up doses or you will suffer it's a harsh drug if you go straight on to the full strength tablets
It's not a fast working drug and you may not see changes in your psoriasis until you get on higher doses

And you are doing the right thing making sure you drink plenty

The enstilar is getting to be a popular way to use with systemic drugs to speed up the clearance ...when clear the Skilarence will keep you clear
I would say as soon as you see it working stop the enstilar or you won't know what dose of skilarence works

Thanks for your comments and help.
It's really precious for me Smile

Some questions :

1) Should be normal to feel a bit of itch in the first weeks ? My spots looks red and alive.I'm not using Enstilar.

2) Sunbathing is possible if i take Skilarence ?

3) In my diet i have pills of omega 3 to reduce triglycerides , i hope that there's not bad interaction between Skilarence and omega 3. What do u think ?

Thanks Again !

Edit by Fred: Corrected spelling of Skilarence.
